1985 Porsche 944 Additional Info:

This is an extremely nice survivor 944. The car was purchased from a family member and carefully maintained by its elderly second owner for over 10 years.Every gallon of gas that was put in the car was recorded and mileage calculated in a logbook! The car has apparently been garaged all it’s life and the receipts of all maintenance's and services are included in the sale. The records confirm the actual mileage accumulated on the car. It was professionally refinished once by the previous owner in the original Guards Red - not due to any damage - but to keep the car looking factory fresh. The interior shows no wear or fading of the carpets or leather. The original dash has no cracking whatsoever.

Everything functions perfectly - just as it left the factory, including the AC system and the electric pull-down/removable sunroof. I can furnish any and all photos of the car upon request. This is a standard model so it does not have the cost and complexity of a turbocharger system, It is not “fast" by today’s standards, but it is plenty quick and a pure joy to drive. Recent services such as the timing belt set replacement and oil seals have been completed and all receipts go with the car. In short, this car is cosmetically and mechanically excellent.
This is the coveted 1985.5 model as it came out later in that year with all of the new upgrades much to the dismay of those who ordered theirs earlier that same year. In mid-1985, the 944 underwent its first significant changes. These included: a new dash and door panels, embedded radio antenna, upgraded alternator (from 90 amp to 115 amp), increased oil sump capacity, new front and rear cast alloy control arms and semi-trailing arms, larger fuel tank, Porsche HiFi sound system, and revisions in the mounting of the transaxle to reduce noise and vibration. The "cookie cutter" style wheels used in the early 944s were upgraded to new "phone dial" style wheels (Fuchs wheels remained an option). 1985 model year cars incorporating these changes are sometimes referred to as "1985B", "85.5" or "1985½" cars.

Some Porsche models have gone “out of sight”, but 944s are still affordable and examples this nice will continue to enjoy robust appreciation.

This is for local pick up, however, there are many after market shipping companies available that can professionally ship this classic for a reasonable price. I have used U-ship and others in the past and have been satisfied. I can also arrange to meet the shipper when scheduled.
I am available for any questions or if you would like additional photos.
Good luck bidding!
