1974 Porsche 911 Carrera Additional Info:
VIN 9114600071 (Euro spec ’74). Clear Texas title, registered as an Antique!
Raced in Texas from 1996-2006 approx. Built and Maintained by Valkyrie Racing until the passing of the owner, Eric Geores (sp?) around 2006. I contacted a builder of the car and the prior owner (who issued me the title) for as much information as i've disclosed. This car was 2162# wet with driver weighed on-track at TWS around 2006: exceedingly light!
Ultra rare 1974 European Carrera car, imported God-knows when and eventually turned into a full race Porsche, competing in Porsche Club Racing. Car had a bolt-in roll cage that was later welded in and further reinforce via NASCAR-style door beams & even a removable cross-bar from the main loop to the passenger's side unibody frame rail.Car is bodied as a standard wide-body 911, which for 1974 would be within the IROC series with 9" front fenders and 11" rear quarters. Car was finished with IROC style 3.0 RSR front & rear bumper covers & proper 53" tail. The Gulf Livery is fresh, never raced on paint though all white/black graphics and stickers are stickers and can be removed.
Nascar (welded) caged & Dzus fastened all panels (fiberglass, approximately 5# each) except hood at about 15# (alum spring-pop releases) and proper reproduction fiberglass 53" wide RSR tail (rubber/snap pin). Front & rear bumper cover are Dzus as well. Top is original steel, opened in 2 small sections & re-closed/welded to facilitate cage welding at top. Bottom pan & top & pillars are original. Front & Rear firewalls are riveted sheet metal steel and some panels are removable for dry-sump, motor access. There is no further rear-seat area: the firewall was moved up to behind-the-seat location. Car was painted during an all-weekend Porsche Club Tech-Session in the summer of 2014 in Austin, Texas: Total paint & body prep & paint equipment surpassed $10k before 30-ish volunteers helped finish paint the car under direction of 3rd Wheel Customs paint pro Sergio Cantu; so yes it was professionally painted. :)
Suspention: RSRCoilovers all 4 corners (no torsions). Top-mount Speedway slide-adjustable swaybars front & rear. Stock steel front A-arms, aluminum rear control arms with welded tabs that receive the coilovers.
Oil Cooling: -16AN oil cooling system: New -16AN Mocal t-stat, 27x7x4 dual-pass oil cooler, racing Fram oil filter housing, breather, hoses, dry sump, and most -16AN fittings + cloth-braided black hose all included; all needs mounting except dry sump tank already installed (car ran with this tank before).
Fuel cell already mounted, secured. No fuel lines are currently run (since painting) but fittings and dual pumps & some -6an braided lines are provided.
Wheels are 16x9.5 Fuchs replicas painted in Gulf Orange
Brakes: Stock Carrera rotors front/rear (though slotted) with Coleman racing 4-piston aluminum calipers in front, RaceTech calipers in the rear, separate front/rear master cylinders with an in-car pedal-adjustable Coleman racing bias. Brakes have not been tested or flushed: this will need to be done however new brake lines have been installed nearly throughout.
Interior: Custom Speedhut gauges (over $1000) on a laser-cut aluminum-shaped suede-covered panel with warning lights, large oil pressure LED warning light, start button, all wired up.
Quick-release steering wheel already mounted/provided.
New 5# fire suppression bottle, hose, new battery cabling (light weight), new Odyssey battery (680) & already mounted behind passenger's seat,
NOS Recaro Pole Position seats on Recaro sliders & mounts; both seats. NOS 6-pt cam-lock harnesses
Lexan all purchased, but not cut nor installed yet. Plenty of misc. parts.
well over $1000+ in new Speedhut gauges, electronics, cables, switches.
~14k in body and paint work; most graphics installed for both IROC and Gulf Liveries. Over $7k in body prep before painting along. Car has been moved 5x due to life-changes and storage changes & moving; so a few paint issues have popped up: crack in LR quarter, chipping/glass damage/paint cracking in lower of front bumper cover, stress crack around vent on hood.
Life changes and new family & new responsibilities will prohibit me from getting to this project: so in lieu of perpetual back-burnering it & without adequate secured storage, I'd opted to sell it. I have over $33k (that I can think of) invested and my reserve is set well below this. Located just outside of Austin, Texas, buyer needs to arrange shipping/delivery as I'm without means. This car weighs perhaps 1200# or so and rolls very easily via one person; so shipping might run between $1000-1400 depending on the company you Contract with. I'd recommend Uship.com as I had a boat delivered across country for $850!
Available for an extra $21,000, a built 930 motor with Megasquirt EFI completed head-to-toe, and 930 transaxle. Inquire about car or drivetrain (or both together) or just the car at MRobinsonPCA at geemail dotcom (yes, I'm affiliated with the PCA).
