This Porsche 911 Carrera is one of only 875 in the Commemorative Edition built to celebrate the 250,000th 911 built on June 3, 1988. Only 300 of them were imported for the US market, and only 120 coupes, making these cars very desirable and collectable by the Porsche aficionados. Like all the other commemorative Carreras, this car comes in the signature color of Diamond Blue Metallic and optioned with a rear model designation delete. The metallic color is best described as a mixture of dark silver grey with tones of lavender hue. It is a very beautiful color and the purple hue is quite emanating when the sun beams on the paint. The overall condition of the paint is superb and the paint is absolutely blemish free, with the exception of the front spoiler and a few spots at the bottom of the front hood. There is some usual chipping and one touched up scratch. The rubber moldingd are fresh and in outstanding condition all throughout. The interior is equipped with Commemorative Edition-specific options including Silverblue Metallic leather upholstery, a short shifter, and Ferry Porsche’s signature stitched in the headrests. The interior has been preserved and in top shape. The seats are plush and very comfortable. The entire dash area is scratch free and there are no tears anywhere on top of the dashboard. The carpeting throughout is very clean and the headliner looks close to new. All the instruments and gadgets are fully functional and in good condition. . The power comes from the 3.2-liter flat-six featuring Bosch Motronic fuel injection and ignition management for a factory rating of 214 horsepower when new. The engine number of this Porsche (64J01313) corresponds with the 1988 911 Carrera models, as this car is. The engine bay is very clean throughout with everything in top shape, including the sound insulation pad which is known to deteriorate over time. The underside of the car is in really nice shape. The floors are solid and 100% rust free. This car has clearly been pampered and has never seen northern weather. The factory Fuchs come in the signature Diamond Blue, and all 4 are in superb shape! The wheels are fitted with close to new Pirelli P6000 tires. Performance wise, this Porsche is spot on and the very desirable G50 transmission truly highlights this car’s shifting action! The car starts right up and the engine has a steady nice idle. The car comes with an impressive stack of receipts, clearly showing that this car has always been mechanically taken care of and up to date. This car does not miss a beat and there really isn’t anything that is not to love. A very recent Pre-Purchase Inspection has been performed, and there were no drivability or performance issues found. This car was originally imported to Reno Nevada, where it stayed until 1998 with about 18,500 miles on the clock. Later that year, the car was purchased by a new owner and brought to sunny Texas where it remained until 2020. Because of this car's rareness and notoriety, it will really stand out at Porsche Club events, Cars and Coffee and in general, everywhere! The upside investment potential is incredible, making it a car you can drive and enjoy! Collector car financing available at competitive rates.
