1961 Ruby Red Porsche 356B T5 Hardtop/"Notchback".... California Car...Just out of 36 years of Storage...
This is a very original, straight, solid, Rust free California Porsche......with its only restorationin 1981, being cosmetic (paint and seats), and an upgraded blank cased, correct year, Super 90 engine installed to replace its original 1600 Super engine, and upgraded electrical from 6v to 12v.Theonly repaint, to its exterior only,to original Ruby Red, with door jams and dash untouched. The Paint still shines nicely after all these years (a couple of chips, here and there, that were touched up). Seats were recovered,in its original Black. The car has its original Carpet, and original soundproofing underneath it, Original factory options, Headrests, Arm rests, horn ring, Transmission lock (very rare on 1961), Chrome Wheels (all original and date coded, and listed on the included Certificate of Authenticity From Porsche of North America), and original yellow and black California plates that have always been assigned to this car.
The Car is Matching #'s Transmission, doors, hatch, hood. Engine is now a Super 90,and runs beautifully (original numbers matching engine was a1600 Super 70 hp). Driving this car feels tight, and smooth. Very quiet in the cab. I have owned anddriven other 356's, and this one drives like no other. It drivesas if it just came off the factory line....amazing. Nice and tight, straight, andquiet. No smells (gas or exhaust) like some, and is unbelievably powerful. Shifts smoothly through all gears. does not pull, drives nice and straight. Steering is tight with no play. A real pleasure to drive.
The car will include original Car Manual, with a very rare, original, Super 90 engine, supplemental manual, A binder that shows early photo's of the car and a few of the 84 year old, last owner (2nd), working on the car, A Certificate of Authenticity, a couple of receipts, old registrations, and yearly stickers that the 2nd owner collected over the years, and never put on.... and acolor Copy of the original "Pink" Slip that I had to turn in, to get it registered in my name.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a1 of63, knownoriginal 1961 Notchbacks that are still on the road. Onethat has not changed owners in over 36 years. One that has not been converted or had full restoration. You will not find one of these as original as this one. And 1 of only 2 or 3 that have had an original Super Engine, let alone, the more powerful Super 90 engine.
