1952 Pontiac OTHER WOODY CHIEFTON Additional Info:
1952 Pontiac Woody Wagon. This was going to be a car for my father, but due to medical issues, he will no longer need the car. This car was in a barn in Wyoming for the last 43 years. The barn was used as a shooting range, unfortunately, the car sustained bullet damage. We got the car here in Florida with most windows shot out. So starting out, this is a 99% rust free car. both windshields were replaced and new rubber seal was installed. all side glass was replaced with new. The engine spun very freely, and with hotwiring and new spark plugs, gas can feed, and new spark plug wires. The car fired right up and ran smoothly! We hot wired it because we had no keys for the car. the gas tank should be removed and cleaned due to the amount of time that it set u, as long as 48 years.. also I have purchased all of the brake kits, they will need to be installed to get brakes working. It will need a new battery, which we always install 8 volts. They perform much more reliable. The generator will also need rebuilt as well. So I'm sure that a mechanical guy with about a grand can have himself a 30 thousand dollar car, if he is ambishes. The interior has been done very well with new door panels, seats recovered, all 6 upper wood at lower windows were replaced with new old stock factory o.e.m. parts. Along with new carpets. The engine compartment was cleaned up and many things were repainted, you can work on the engine and not even get your hands dirty! The floors are mostly perfect with no holes found anywhere when carpet was installed. Still has the brass heater core under the drivers area front seat, as well as the wiper wash bottle in the engine compartment. The dash has never had anybody in it, and has the radio unmolested, still in it! The interior will need the door weather strips soon as well as the wind lace, ebay 150.00. So it is a very minimal project.... We ordered and installed the grille at a cost of 1800.00 and front & rear bumpers 1100.00. A lot of the outside moldings were replace with new old stock o.e.m. parts. The paint and body were sent out, and the wood graining was professionally done by Ron Singleton a museum builder and race team guy for Big Daddy Don Garlits museum. Ron has people from all over the country sending him parts and dashes to be done to simulate real wood grain. Expand the pictures and see for yourself how real it looks "not like the air brush stuff "that you mostly see. all four tires are brand new.
