This is 1 of 1377 Pontiac Can Am Lemans Sport Coupes built mid-year 1977 by Pontiac and finished at Jim Wanger’s Motortown.

Lovingly cared for and pleasure driven since a complete, body-off-the-frame restoration was completed in 2013. Built for factory original appearance and optimal driving capabilities.

-Original numbers matching “Bandit” W72 400cid engine, Y6 heads and Quadrajet carburetor-

Factory equipped with;

- Power Steering

- Power Brakes

- Safe-T-Track Posi rear axle

- Air Conditioning

- Bucket Seats & Console Shifter

- AM/FM radio

- Sport Steering Wheel

- Tinted Glass

The body was rotisserie restored; the Cameo White paint is 9.9 out of 10. The frame was powdercoated and the underbody coated for insulation and protection.

The factory Firethorn Red interior has been converted to factory Black. The dash panel is fully restored and rewired. No tears, stains, or flaws noted.

Factory Power Windows and Power Door Locks were added during the restoration.

Updates from factory original include;

- Powder coated frame

- 200R4 overdrive transmission

- Shaker hood scoop made functional

- Functional Trans Am fender louvers added

- Original Rally wheels given a classic “Judge” look

- The Air Conditioning converted to a cold R134A unit.

Original engine documented completely rebuilt, featuring a Comp Cam hydraulic roller cam & rockers, 2 1/2” true dual exhaust with Dynomax mufflers and a Pertronix HEI distributor.

Transmission is a high-performance built 200R4 overdrive with a 2200rpm stall converter.

Everything on this car works, but the trip-o-meter can be finicky.

Starts every time, runs excellent and handles wide-track great!

I have a folder of documentation for the frame-off restoration, engine rebuild, transmission and most parts purchased for the car. Plus, Pontiac Historical Society (PHS) documentation on the VIN. Also a stack of original magazines and ads for the Can Am.
