England Pontiac in Hollywood, CA- California car since new with all original metal other than the hood- Original "Black Plate" car- Nicest unrestored undercarriage & floors I have ever seen due to the car being in a dry climate its entire existence- Just over 80k original miles- Ram Air IV 400 cubic inch 370 hp engine- 4-speed close ratio manual transmission- Just 310 Ram Air IV GTOs were produced with the 4-speed manual in 1969- Matching numbers engine & transmission! (VERY RARE to see one of these cars with the original drivetrain still intact)- Sports Car Market writes: "Now, here is the real rub with Ram Air IV cars. Very few have their original engines. While this is usually a huge deterrent in muscle cars, Ram Air IV buyers have generally accepted that most of these cars lost their original blocks as a result of having a notorious aversion to high RPM"- This car was heavily street raced early in its life- The original 10 bolt rear end was replaced with a 12 bolt for added strength for drag racing- The original engine was removed due to valve spring issues common with the Ram Air IV high-lift camshaft and original metallurgy. It was sold and replaced in the early 70s with a 389 Tri Power engine and the car continuedto be extensively raced on the street- In 2004, the original matching numbers WW code block was purchased via an Ebay auction for $7,500 and sent to Ken's Speed & Machine Shop in Brooksville, FL where it received a full rebuild (receipts included)- Seventeen years later, the car was located with its matching numbers 4-speed still intact and purchased from the original owner in Sun Valley, CA and was reunited with its original engine!- Highly-optioned car (unusual to see with Ram Air IV cars since they were primarily used for racing)- Factory ordered with rare HD 4.33 gears- Bucket seats with console- Power steering- Power disc brakes- Covered headlamps- Hood tachometer- This is an INCREDIBLY WELL-DOCUMENTED CAR- PHS documentation showing the original options ordered- Original window sticker showing $1,231.70 in options for a total $4,544.70 MSRP (huge for the time)- Original Protect-O-Plate- Original warranty pamphlet- Original sales contract- Original purchase order- Original Scheduled Car Price Sheet- Original 1969 California Registration- Original black Californialicense plate that the car ran on its entire life- License plate bracket from the dealer who sold the car new in Hollywood- I even have the business card from the salesman who sold the car new- Copy of the title when the car was purchased from the original owner- Original owner's manual- Copy of Classic Car VIN trace used to find the car after the original engine was purchased- Receipt from Ebay for the engine purchase in 2004- Invoice from the machine shop for the engine rebuild- 16 years of correspondence between the original owner and second owner who reunited it with its original engine- Restored in its original color combination of Mayfair Maize with black vinyl interior by Auto Restorations by Harry in Malabar, FL- Very nice paint & gaps- Exceptional interior & trunk with correct full size spare- Rally II wheels wrapped in period correct Coker Firestone Wide Oval tires- Current Hagerty book value $161,000 plus a 15% add for a 4-speed, $185,150.
