This is a pretty rare firebird convertible. First off it was built in the Los Angeles plan,t and was always in the Arizona/California area up until 4 years ago when it was shipped up to the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Where it since has been stored inside . It is absolutely rot-free. It is a running and driving car, and has a pontiac 350 engine, not numbers matching. It is a decent driver, but is not perfect. Paint is decent drivers quality. It does have a power top, and you can hear the motor running when you use the switch, but I have not attempted to put it down, since I didn't want to open a can of worms. So most likely it works, but it has not been tested.
The interior seems to be complete, with some parts that need to be installed. Including armrests that are seen on the passenger floor. Also the crank windows might need some work.
What makes this car particularly rare is, the original configuration it came from the factory. It was originally a white car, with a teal interior, and a turquoise convertible top. It must have been stunning back in the day. It definitely can be driven the way it is, and if somebody at some point wanted to put back to its original colors. I'm sure it would be the only one out there. It will need things like door sill plates, rubber trim pieces, misc interior trim....etc.
I am 1800 mi away from the car in Phoenix Arizona, and I don't know a lot of history about the car, other than what I've provided. Please realize it is a running and driving car, but is a minor project because of the little things that needs done. I suggest you check the car out before bidding, so you can make sure it is what you're looking for. It is at my friend's shop in Round Lake Beach IL, and can be seen during business hours.
This is an absolute rot-free Arizona car!
