1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula Additional Info:
You are bidding on a 1970 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400, Ram Air III. This is a factory 4 speed car (M21 Muncie) with a 3.73, 12 bolt posi rearend - COZ code. It's one of only 189 made with this drivetrain combination. It was originally Coronado Gold with Sandalwood interior.
As you can see from the pics, it is a restoration project, but has had a lot of time, effort and money already put into it.
The front sub-frame has been cleaned, painted and rebuilt with all new Moog parts, including:
-Inner and outer tie rod ends-Upper and lower ball joints-Tie rod sleeves-Idler arm-Control arm bushings-Upper and lower control arm bumpers-New shocks-New control arm bolts, washers and nuts-NOS brake dust shields-NOS wheel bearing caps-New rotors & pads-Rebuilt calipers-New sway bar bushings, brackets & bolts-New rag joint
There are all new brake lines, front to rear, including new brake hoses. New master cylinder, brake booster and proportioning valve & brackets. New rear axle brake lines as well.
New fuel lines, front to rear.New radiator support with new hardware and new bushings.Nearly all nuts, bolts, clips and washers are new on the front clip of the car.
There is no engine block, but I do have a complete pair of correctly dated #12 RAIII heads. Also included is an intake, carb, distributor and NEW Ram Air air cleaner. The original M21 Muncie transmission is included, along with a bellhousing, shifter and driveshaft. As stated earlier, a COZ code, 12 bolt, 3.73 posi rearend is in place as well. There are new leaf springs and bushings installed.
The car came with a Sandalwood, standard interior, but I have upgraded it to be Sandalwood deluxe as I like the look of it better. One of the previous owners dyed the headliner and dash black, so those would need to be redyed to match the rest of the interior. The sail panels are brand new, as is the package tray.
The body is very solid overall, but could use some finishing before paint (depending how picky you are). There are new door skins installed on original 1970 doors. The front fenders and deck lid are clean originals off a '70 Colorado car - passenger side needs a small patch at the bottom. There is a new windshield installed.
The two front wheels & tires shown on the car are not included. I have all four correct 14x7 Rally II wheels, but two of them have flat tires, so you'll need to bring 2 good ones to load the car. Winning bidder will need a truck and trailer to transport the car and extra parts.
I have a 7040273 Ram Air carb available at extra cost to winning bidder, if interested.
