Engine and Suffix Code Information:
- Believed to be the original engine – come inspect for yourself
- Suffix Code “XJ” – See pics
- XJ is correct for 1967 Grand Prix
- Unable to locate VIN on engine block – correct, as VIN stamps on Pontiac engine blocks began late 1967
- “XJ” Suffix Code Information (see pics):
- XJ = 400 cubic inch, 350 horsepower, 10.5:1 Compression Ratio, 4BC Carb, for auto transmission
- Engine rebuilt approx. three years ago, per previous owner (time of car restoration).
- Few upgrades including intake manifold, carburetor and HEI ignition
- Possibly other upgrades unknown to me
- Brand new complete exhaust system

Wheels and Tires:
- Wheels are 15” Rally II Pontiac (I believe originals were 14”)
- New 15” Radial White Wall Tires (I believe originals were 14” bias ply)
Power Steering:
- Appears to be new or newer
- Nice and tight
- Easily turn steering wheel with two finders
Power Brakes:
- Appears to be new or newer
- 4-wheel drum brakes (not disk)
- Brakes work just fine –no reason (my opinion) to change to disk
- Car brakes straight (doesn’t pull to a side)
- Booster works great – easy to apply brakes and stop car
Transmission:
- Believed to be the original factory Turbo 400 – I haven’t checked codes, but you are welcome to come inspect and determine for yourself.
- Transmission operates correctly
- Rebuilt approx. three years ago, per previous owner, at time of car restoration
Interior:
- Beautiful black interior with bucket seats, center console, floor shifter and woodgrain steering wheel.
- Very nice interior
- No Seat Belts – not mandatory in 1967 – new seatbelts are available and can be installed by you or your installer.
Retractable Headlight Covers:
- Open and close correctly – see video
Power Convertible Top:
- Up and down correctly – see video
- Glass rear window
- Top appears to be either new or newer – no tears or rips
- Parade boot – looks terrific – I drive 60 mph with boot in place
Power Windows:
- Up and down correctly – see video
- Note: one window goes up slightly slower than the other three, but still operates correctly
- Note: Wing windows are manual
Air Conditioning:
- Operates correctly (cold) – see video
- Original style (not aftermarket)
- Professionally converted to R134
Factory AM Radio:
- Radio does not power on – I don’t know why
Factory Clock:
- Clock does not operate – I don’t know why
Speedometer & Gas Gauge:
- Work ok
Trunk:
- Nice and clean
- Nice pan
- No Spare tire or jack
Car starts, runs and drives beautifully. The steering and brakes are very tight. The transmission shifts great. The suspension appears to be new or newer, and the car handle great.
