Cincy Classic Cars is very proud to offer this Survivor 1978 Factory W72/WS6 4 Speed Trans AM which still retains its original numbers matching Pontiac 400 engine and 4 speed manual transmission with low "Actual" miles of 61,706. This fully documented Trans Am was the king of the mountain for 1978 performance and is nearly completely original with just some wear items replaced. The included build sheet, original window sticker, original bill or sale, and numerous other dealer documents fully authenticate this special TA as being legit and the real deal. This 2 owner TA has only been driven 400 miles in the last 26 years and was last registered in 1996 with included license plate sticker and registration sticker and registration card and insurance docs and PA license plate. Until this month, 6/2018, this TA had never left the PA area. This special TA features all original beautiful paint and original decals, door edge guards, and body moldings, an original fantastic deluxe Camel vinyl interior, the original factory drive line, and the factory build sheet, window sticker, and bill of sale documentation. This Trans Am has no visible rust anywhere and is very solid with great lines and gaps. There is no bubbling or cracked paint anywhere on the body. The underside is original and not covered up with cheap spray paint. There are no rust concerns anywhere on the frame, floors, rockers, trunk, or tail panel. This Trans Am is finished in the beautiful and desirable color combinations of Solar Gold (code 50) over Camel Deluxe (code 62N) vinyl interior. This is the factory color scheme as verified on the trim tag pictured above and included Build Sheet. These special low production 4 Speed Trans Am's are some of the most sought after collectible TA's on the market. They continue to increase in value and desirability.
Exterior
The Solar Gold exterior is in beautiful fully original condition. This Trans Am features all original sheet metal with no patches or repairs and all original paint in factory Solar Gold with all original decals and moldings. The paint is in wonderful condition for being 40 years old with no signs of visible rust anywhere on the body or underneath and both bumpers are in great shape with no flaking paint. There is no bubbling paint or any signs of rust on the body and the metal is all original sheet metal with no signs or rust repairs. The underside is honest and rust free and not covered up with undercoating or cheap spray paint. This TA was factory rust proofed with Rusty Jones and see photo of included factory receipt. There may be some minor imperfections that are not noticeable in the photos, but nothing was intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some color matched rock chip touch ups around the car and a few places has thinner paint like on the rear bumper edge. The Cooper Cobra tires are literally brand new with less than 50 miles on them and are correctly sized 225/70/15 and the 8" factory WS6 snowflake wheels are OEM originals and are in excellent original condition and not restored. All weather stripping and window sweeps are original and in excellent condition. Door seals, t top seals, trunk seal, and shaker seal are in great shape. Trunk is very solid and clean with the original space saver spare tire and jack, with a the original correct trunk mat and the original t top Hurst storage bag.
Interior
The Camel deluxe vinyl interior of this Trans Am is original and in excellent overall condition. The original seat covers are like new with no noticeable wear, no rips, or seam splits. These are not replacements but factory original vinyl covers. These are very comfortable and soft to the touch and not brittle at all. The carpet is original with no major stains, rips, or holes. The original dash is in superb condition with no cracks, no warping, and no fading. The dash bezel is original and looks beautiful in the car and is in spectacular condition and unrestored. The original am/fm cassette stereo has never been removed and the factory wiring is still in tact and cassette player still works and sounds great. The presets hold and work properly as well. The original door panels are in great condition and both door pulls are solid and in tact. The headliner and package tray are both originals and in good shape. All interior and exterior lights and gauges work as they should including the cigarette lighter. The horn, stereo, wipers, and blower motor on all speeds works. The warning buzzers and lights all work and so does the blinker indicator lights. Everything works on this car outside of the clock. Reverse lock out linkage is still in place from the factory and the car must be in reverse to remove the keys. This car has not been smoked in; there is no aroma what so ever.
Mechanical
This Trans Am is in excellent mechanical condition with low miles of 61,706. Most importantly the original Pontiac W72 400 engine and original 4 speed manual transmission are still in the car with matching numbers. I have driven this car numerous times and its one of the best F body cars I have ever driven. It does everything the way its intended to per factory design and has no noticeable rattles or squeaks or odd noises. I have full confidence in the car and its a true pleasure to drive and it handles extremely well being a factory WS6 car. The original catalytic converter is still in place with dual exhaust which gives this TA a nice rumble at idle and cruising speeds. The emergency brake works as it should and holds the car well. We have driven this car numerous times and it always performs well, it does not run hot, it rides tight, and is always a joy to drive. The smiles, thumbs up, and attention you get driving this car is unlike any classic car I have driven. In the video one can observe this car running and driving with no excessive rattles or noises, and the car handles and performs well. This Trans Am is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road and at highway speeds. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time, idles well, and runs excellent. The brakes do not pull and stop as they should and were recently serviced. Brand new rotors, calipers, brake hoses and brake pads were installed on the front of car. New fuel filter, air filter and oil filter and oil were just installed. Also, the engine is very clean and nicely detailed as one can see from the photos. There is a lot of originality under the hood and throughout the car. This is a factory NON AC car which really cleans up the engine bay and enhances performance.
