Original Unrestored Y82 Bandit Trans-am with 7,750 miles. Original window sticker, warranty book, and purchase agreement. Original 6.6L V8 Engine. 4-barrel carburetor. Automatic Transmission. Saf-T-Track differential. Power Steering. Power brakes with front discs. T-Tops. Air conditioning. Rally tachometer and gauges. Formula Steering Wheel. Tilt column. Lamp group. Rear defrost. Cast aluminum snowflake wheels.
A highly original Y82 car, this example features the styling elements that set the SE apart from the standard Trans Ams, including the lettering in Germanic font, the large gold bird on the B-pillar, the matte gold/bright gold hood decal, gold striping surrounding the car, gold engine-turned dash bezel, gold-spoke steering wheel and more. The SE option added $1,259 to the overall price of the Trans Am, a pricey sum in 1978, but also added so much zing to the already outgoing personality of the car that many felt it was worth it, especially considering it nearly duplicated the car used infamously in “Smokey and the Bandit.”
