1984 Pontiac Fiero 2M4 with tilt steering Additional Info:
I bought this car in 2001. Between 2002 and 2004, at 107,000 miles, the car was restored. The engine was completely rebuilt and a 5 speed transmission/transaxle replaced the 4 speed that was in it.The engine crankshaft was reground, we hot tanked the engine block, parrallel decked the block and bore the cylinders. We added new pistons, connecting rods and rings, and balanced the engine with the new parts including cam bearings. An RV cam replaced the old. The engine also has a new exhaust header for free flowing exhaust, and new spark plugs and wires, thermostat, water pump and hoses. The brake rotors were replaced with vented brake rotors in the front and cross drilled rotors in the rear. New brake pads and replaced the old. The inner and outer wheel bearings were replaced. New springs from Eibach, lowered the car about 1 inch. The shock absorbers were replaced with Gas-Adjust KYB shocks and the lower ball joints were replaced. Almost all parts came from the Fiero Store. On the body, the following parts are new or replaced: rear quarter panel, felt window guides, windshield, door seals, door trim, a Fiero Formula front bumper and it was painted Sea Mist Green, a Subaru color. For an additional $500, there are alot of spare parts from other cars including: eight more wheels and seven tires, a spare wheel and tire, bumpers, dashboard, interior trim, etc. The car does not have a catalytic converter on it, but I have a new catalytic converter, in the box, and that goes with the car. I have taken the car to California, from Colorado, a couple times and got an average for the trip of 36 mpg at an average speed of 70 mph. I don't have enough room in my garage or I would keep it. It has been stored, on blocks, over the winter, every year since I purchased it. I have a complete computer listing of all work done on the car and I have all the receipts since I purchased it.The mileage today, 6/25/18 is 144,584.
