1965 Pontiac GTO Coupe Additional Info:
This GTO was purchased from an estate sale with 75% of a full frame-on restoration completed. It was last registered in 1985. The body and paint were done in 2004 by one of Nevada’s legendary painters in PPG two-stage. The interior is all new, including wiring and gauges, along with a vintage Corvette steering wheel and classic car stereo. The front seats have been lowered two inches to sit more comfortably in the car. The 389 engine with four-barrel carb and four-speed trans were rebuilt in 2009, along with the chassis, brakes, and all chassis hardware being replaced. I finished the original style restoration and decided to take the car to the next level. The car was taken to a renowned performance shop in Reno for all of the performance upgrades, which include the engine being rebuilt again with all custom internals, balancing, blueprinting and 2x4 Edelbrock intake and carbs. A full Flowmaster exhaust system, four-core aluminum radiator, quick-ratio power steering, power brakes, keeping the rare rebuilt aluminum drums. The differential was rebuilt with new Auburn posi and heavy-duty axles and a custom-built Tremic five-speed from Silver Sport Transmissions was installed. A full BMR tubular suspension with KYB gas shocks, along with custom powder-coated American Salt Flat wheels, completed the new build. The GTO now met my expectations, with superior performance, handling, that far exceed the original build. Everything has been addressed and replaced, except for the original side and rear glass, which have some very minor wear marks. This car was built to show and drive hard (road tour) and not enter in concourse type of events, as there are a lot of GTOs for sale of that type. All of the original receipts (59,000+) and PHS documentation will be included with this sale.
The car is for sale locally, so this auction can end at any time. My price is the starting bid, with no reserve. Buyer is responsible for the pick up and shipping of the car. No warranty, expressed or implied, on this vehicle. Sold in as-is condition. All sales final. Serious buyers can see and drive the car, plus inspect it on a lift. I am available for all questions.Ray 775-560-3055
