1979 10th Anniversary 4 Speed Trans AM - One of only 1,817 to receive the Pontiac W72 400 rated at 220hp. It is the first year the Trans AM window sticker would eclipse $10,000. On the heels of the Smokey & the Bandit phenomena and the success GM experienced with the 1978 Special Edition Corvette, Pontiac decided to celebrate the first decade of the Trans AM with a 10th Anniversary Edition. It was also announced that this would be the last year the Pontiac 400ci Engine. Dealers were quick to mark up these cars as much as 100%, an additional $10,000, as collectors scrambled to acquire one. So there was no shortage of reasons to consider purchasing this special Anniversary Edition Trans AM.

This unit may well be one of the Nicest 10th Anniversary Trans AM you will ever find. With a nod towards keeping this car as original as possible, but also replacing any worn parts or upgrading anything that was not showing well, a rejuvenation process was started. Original GM used whenever possible. Paint on nearly ever 10th Anniversary, even when well cared for, usually will look very tired. This car was treated to a complete Professional Full Paint Job. A modern Base / Clear finish and New Graphics package were applied. This TA is in show condition. The car was Southern Rust Free car to start with, so No metal work was required.
