1979 10th ANNIVERSARY TRANS AM 400 4-SPEED

Please refer to the links to additionalpicsandrunning videos at bottom of description.This is a matching numbers Limited Edition 10thAnniversary Trans Am with the desirable Pontiac W72 400 and Borg Warner Super T-10 4 speed transmission. One of only 1817 out of over 117,000 Trans Ams produced in 1979. This rare car is unmolested and original, including the numbers matching drivetrain, silver leather (not vinyl) interior and two-tone silver and charcoal paint. It still has the ultra-rare original am/fm 8 track stereo with red LEDs, which is unique to the 10thAnniversary models. The 4 speed console is perfect, with no cigarette burns or other damage and the dash pad is also perfect with no cracks or damage. The car runs, drives, and shifts well but it was stored for a while and would benefit from a tune up and it has an exhaust leak. The body is virtually rust-free and solid including the floor and trunk pans, rockers, bottoms of the doors, jambs, cowl, etc. Being an original paint car, there’s nothing hidden under gallons of Bondo – what you see is what you get. There’s a small section of surface rust behind the passenger side rear wheel, as seen in the pictures. It is not through the sheet metal. There’s a dent above the driver side rear wheel where, according to the prior owner, something fell against the body. Both are easy fixes. All AC components are in place and the system is pressurized. The compressor cycles so it could use some additional refrigerant. To make this car a daily driver wouldn’t take much - a tune-up, brake service, fix an exhaust leak, and a good cleaning. The tires are good, it rides nicely and tracks straight. It would also be an easy restoration, which was my plan. I have another Trans Am and I’ve been holding on to this car as a retirement project but I’ll be moving and won’t have the space for both.
