1947 Pontiac Silver Streak delux Additional Info:

GARAGE FIND, over 45 years storage and yes that is the Original Paint. Way cool Art Deco sculpture at it's best. This design was first seen in 1941-42, refined, mechanically up dated and sold in 46 47 and 48. This is an example of the state of the art during the war and post war America. Car has been sitting in a garage for over 30 years by me and at least 15 years by previous owner. Nice solid car, well optioned, straight body. 6 cyl 3 speed on the column. Former owner of over 20years, used it for parades and special occasions. Retired when engine block cracked over the winter in the care of the former owner. It's a fairly small crack and I think it can be repaired. As another option I'm including a straight 8 professionally rebuilt short block including the head plus with the engine accessories. The drivers door has rust on the bottom (easy repair only on bottom) but I'm including a lot of 48 parts including a dent and rust free drivers door. Floors and trunk look good small area front floor passenger side. Body is overall rust and dent free. Loaded with period factory options including, deluxe interior, factory banjo steering wheel (nice), ash tray and lighter, side view rear mirror, heater, radio, clock, clove box, engine bay reel out trouble light, trunk reel out trouble light, fog lights (have more parts), back up lights, front and back deluxe wrap around bumper guards, fender skirts (incorrect driver side 1948 smooth and correct nos passenger side with speed lines), wheel beauty rings, original side window shades by Auto Ventshades Co. of Atlanta Ga. buff out stainless for new look and a rather unique back window windshield wiper, controlled in the front independently by driver. The odometer shows 42k and the brake and clutch pedal and interior door panel seems to verify a probable mileage of 142k. Comes with the original keys for the doors, ignition, clove box and trunk. Hood locks when closed and is released in side car by driver. Two keys on a key chain with a brass police whistle and two key rings. Police whistles where a common theft deterrent in the 40's. Interior was a lot better but raccoon broke into garage. Thru out the contaminated material. Advertised locally and I reserve the right to cancel sale at any time. Car is sold as is. $500 non refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction close. Balance paid in full 7 days and car can be picked up one month from end of auction and additional storage available at local rate.
