1990 Pontiac Grand Prix ASC/Mclaren Additional Info:
Up for your consideration is a rare 1990 Pontiac Turbo Grand Prix. These were a limited production run and sold only during 1989 and 1990. The turbocharged V6 put down a modest 205hp that went through a modified 4T60 transmission. Both the engine and transmission were custom built by ASC/Mclaren (same ASC/Mclaren that modified the famous Buick GNX). During 1989 and 1990 the Turbo Grand Prix was NASCAR's choice for pace car duty. This particular model is a true survivor and has been well taken care of. This one owner vehiclewas purchased fromGeorgia back in February with the intent of fixing up and driving on occasion.Plans have changed and now its up for sale.I have replaced many items for reliability as any 27 year old car is likely to have some issues.
-Upper intake/plenum gaskets-Fuel injectors-Fuel pump-Fuel filter
-Crank position sensor (NOS GM)-Battery-Spark PlugsAC Delco-Spark Plug wires (NOS GM)-Ignition Control Module (NOS GM)-Flush transmission installed new filter and gasket (Amsoil ATF)-Front and rear brake pads-Resurfaced front and rear rotors-Engine computer (NOS GM)-Performance computer chip-ABS accumlator-o2 sensor-Oil and filter service (Amsoil high zinc 5w30)-Clean throttle body and egr passages-Turbo intercooler silicone hoses-Flush radiator-Thermostat and gasket-Adjustable vacuum modulatorThe car runs/drives as it should without any issues. The transmission shifts firm and the car stops well. The ABS module does not have any codes stored (if your familiar with the platform you know the ABS can be a issue). The tires have been on the car since 1998, they have good tread and are not dry rotted. The paint is original has a few dings and some small paint chips on the hood and fenders. The paint shows well for a 27 yearold car but is not perfect. There is a scratch on the the trunk lid and the front lower valance needs a repaint (both pictured). I receiveda $500 quote from a reputablepaint shop local here. Although the interior is in great shape it does have very small imperfections as well. A quick google search will tell you anything you need to know about the platform don't hesitate to askquestions. No reserve bid to own. Thanks
