This excellent condition 1989 Firebird Convertible with fast 5.0, FI, V8, with only 63,400 miles, is one of the autos that were retrofitted by the ASC division of McLaren Motor Sports. In 1989, ASC converted a total of 330 Firebirds, of which only 58 were Formulas. This classic auto has four speed automatic transmission, close ratio power steering, performance suspension, four wheel disc brakes, power windows, tilt wheel, and factory FM radio. The interior is in very good condition with no rips nor tears. The top was replaced and new paint approximately 3 years ago. Current owner has replaced: fuel pump, water pump, radiator overflow tank (this was a big deal, hard to find!), rear shocks/brakes, starter, alternator, right headlight motor, and rear transmission mount. "1989 was the biggest year for Pontiac with regards to press coverage and performance, and was asked to provide the pace car for the 1989 Indianapolis 500".
