1973 Plymouth Road Runner Additional Info:

1973 Plymouth Road Runner 383 Big Block Project - Like Daisy Duke’s in The Dukes of Hazzard television show.

Vehicle Details

Factory big-block Road Runner with a second-chance story —Nearly complete project, clean and open Tennessee title, ready for the next build.

Some cars pass through your life once.

This one came back to me like a boomerang!

I first bought this 1973 Plymouth Road Runner in late 2005 from a county lieutenant sheriff here in Tennessee. At the time it had a fresh “Hazard Yellow” lacquer paint job and Daisy Duke style stripe package — Clean and unmistakable Southern Mopar muscle!

I later sold it through my dealership. (Regretfully!)

In 2018, I found it again.

Same VIN. Same car. Same Tennessee history.

But this time it was being taken apart. Stripped for a full restoration.

I told the seller I would only buy it if he stopped it immediately. That’s how this Road Runner came back home for a second time.

Vehicle Identity

VIN: RM21P3G191334

Decodes as:

• Real Road Runner (R)

• Factory big-block car (P = 400ci original)

• 1973 model year

• St. Louis assembly

Originally built as a factory 400 big-block Road Runner.

Currently fitted with a Chrysler 383 big block B-engine.

This remains a true big-block Mopar platform — not a small-block conversion or clone.

Transmission is an automatic. It is installed and included with this auction.

Engine & Drivetrain

• Factory big-block VIN car

• Now equipped with period-correct 383

• Big-block architecture visually confirmed

• Magnum air cleaner present (cosmetic)

• Automatic transmission included

The 383 is widely respected for balance, torque, and build potential.

Nothing is being withheld.

Fuel Tank

Original tank removed due to rust — typical for B-body Mopars of this age.

Vehicle will require replacement tank.

Reproduction units are readily available.

Body & Interior

• Tennessee car

• Straight restoration platform

• Dash cluster present

• Road Runner glovebox emblem intact

• Interior core largely complete

• Correct body structure retained

This is not a stripped shell.

It is a buildable, nearly complete project.

Dukes of Hazzard Era Connection

The 1973–1974 Road Runner body style is the same era and design seen in Daisy Duke’s early Road Runner in The Dukes of Hazzard.

This is not a screen-used vehicle! Please don’t ask.lol

Everywhere I drove it (the first time around) everyone old enough to know would always ask me if it was used in the television show.

It is an extremely rare piece Mopar and television history!

Whether you build:

• Factory restoration

• Daisy Duke tribute car

• Pro-touring street machine

• Modern Mopar restomod

The platform fully supports it.

Collector Perspective

Early-70s big-block Mopars are climbing as earlier muscle becomes both physically and financially unattainable.

Key points:

• Real RM21 VIN

• Factory big-block origin

• Period-correct 383 installed

• Tennessee provenance

• Clean and open title

• Nearly Complete project
