1966 Plymouth Belvedere II 440 Additional Info:
This 1966 Plymouth Belvedere II has a very cool sleeper-like style. The exterior has a true factory style right down to the dog dish hubcaps, and they made a nice investment inside to keep it fresh but vintage. Then you look under the hood and see a massive 440 V8 lurking in the show-ready engine bay.
The muscle car era was coming around at Plymouth in 1966. They were ready for it with an update to the styling that kept the unique cantilever hardtop roof, but gave it a more aggressive front and rear. The factory-correct white paint has a good gloss, but it's nothing too fancy to take this special sleeper Belvedere out of the stock-style realm. The same goes for the nice chrome bumper, bright grille, and the full-length side trim that shows off the straightness of the sheetmetal. The combination of dog dish hubcaps, black wheels, and redline tires instantly remind us all of those cool sleepers back in the day. You know the ones that looked like you borrowed your dad's slant-six coupe, but soon they all found out there was a true beast within.
Peek inside, and you'll see the seats, headliner, dash, and carpeting have a deep, dark, and fresh feeling that lets you know there was a solid investment here. And more than just quality, you'll love it for the appearance. The factory pattern on the seats has enough stitch work to look like a custom job. The bright red center cap on the factory steering wheel is like a beacon in this full black interior. The dash panel looks great with all of its factory-correct elements in place, and it's all an easy reach away for the driver. It's a full vintage presentation everywhere you look. In fact, it will be hard to first spot the upgraded AM/FM digital tuner. It's a retro-style radio that allows you to really upgrade your driving music.
The Belvedere line had to wait until next year for the GTX era to come around and offer the big Super Commando 440 cubic-inch V8. But we all know it fits in this engine bay just fine, too. In fact, they not only made this one look like it belonged here since day one, but they also invested in the engine bay to make it look like today is day one. The bold color of the big block combines with the new wires, clean hoses, bright valve covers, and big air grabber with Super Commando callout. It's all impressive, and it's all in show-ready condition. Of course, you're going to want to be driving to these shows. The mighty V8 fires up with a terrific big block sound out of the x-pipe dual exhaust. And the Torqueflite A727 three-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit built to handle all the power. The front end has been given plenty of care and new bushings, and so this coupe has a confident feeling on the road. You even have power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
This Belvedere is the cool classic hardtop with the right investments for a great sleeper style. So if you love a powerful Mopar, don't miss this deal. Call today!!!
