1976 Plymouth Other Additional Info:

I bought this 1976 Volare Custom in 2003 from the estate of the original owner after she passed away.At that time it had 47000 original miles and had no problems at all but out of precaution i put in a new radiator due to the age of the car.The first few years i used it as my daily driver but as i bought other newer cars i drove the Volare less and less and now with 3 other cars i drive the Volare around 20 miles a week and with retirement getting closer i need to thin out the herd.this car came from the factory with no air conditioner and even has the air delete vents. The original am/fm radio still works as does all lights gauges and even the lighter.it has the original 225 slant 6 1 barrel carburetor and i have always maintained it like any car should be maintained but with my easy driving and it being such a good car it has not had any major problems. It had new shocks installed a few years back and the brakes have always been kept in top shape. i have always changed the oil every 4000 miles with mobil 1 full synthetic 10w30 and since i drive it very little i have to add a little transmission fluid from time to time which i never had to do when i drove it more regular. It is an original survivor and other than keep it maintained i have really not done any cosmetic touchups and in a hard rain a little bit of water will come in thru the drivers side fresh air vent located near the floor.I tried to put some foam in it to stop the leak which was stupid because it didn't stop the leak but now the fresh air flap is stuck closed but that's better than it being stuck open. The car is 43 years old and does have a few minor places of surface rust and a couple of places where the rust has ate thru the metal the worst being on the bottom of the drivers side fender where i did put some foam to keep the water out.i have only waxed it a few times in the last 16 years but when i wash it the original paint still has i like new shine. This is a 43 year old granny car and with the 1 barrel it certainly is no hot rod but it has survived extremely well and still fires right up and will take me across town or across the state if i choose.Besides the radiator that i mentioned other than regular maintenance tune ups etc i have replaced the carburetor and water pump and alternator a few years back and thats it.it has power steering and power brakes.disc on front and shoes on back.it's a 3 spd automatic on the column.I keep this car under a car port and now only drive it in nice weather and the heater works as it should.it now has just under 101.000 original miles as it just turned over for the first time a few years back and it was kind of a big deal and also kind of a sad deal for me because it seems like it was not that long ago that it had under 50.000 miles. It also saddens me to sell it after it being such a good car to me but when i retire my income is going to take a hit and I've got to start adjusting now and i do like the creature comforts of a newer car so the Volare gets the short straw.I hope someone can take it to the next level and enjoy it like i have. The underside/bottom of the car had some kind of under coating from the factory and is in really nice shape with only the usual thin minor surface rust here and there. on one of the bigger rust spots on the passenger side at the bottom of the vinyl roof in the back i filled it in with some black gasket stuff to keep water out.but i just keep in under the car port and take it out on nice days but in 2013 i did take it a few times to go see my dad which was a 200 mile round trip and also drove it to Atlanta a few times around that time as well and it never gave me any problems at all but we are both getting older and it's time to pass it on.I gave it a quick wash but after the pictures i see that i missed a few spots but it does clean up very nice.I do have a clear Georgia title in my name. And all 4 tires are almost new with just a few miles on them.
