1987 Plymouth Fury Gran Fury Additional Info:
Very nice looking and running Vintage Gran Fury. Only owned in Florida. New Paint. Some blemishes.I bought it last year from the original owner. The choke was not working at the time I bought the car, so engine carboned up losing compression. I rebuilt the cylinder heads, and changed the timing chain, water pump, belts and hoses while I had it apart. Bought a new choke and choke pull off. Runs super. Good brakes all the way around. Cold AC. No rust underneath; looks brand new.
I will take $2000 and the difference in trade. Message me with offers. Looking for riding lawn mower, or anything I can sell for the value.
3 points need mentioned.1) there is a vibration between 55 and 60 that is quite bad. 50 and under is perfect if you are a city driver. I have checked all the things I can think of to try and figure out the vibration. New shocks. Balanced and rotated tires. Took hubcaps off. No change. A mechanic said the rear differential was fine, no bearing noise nor bent axles. I have not changed the driveshaft ujoints which could be the problem. Even though the tires are nearly new, there might be one that is out of round, though not obvious. I am selling it as is. I drive it daily, but do not drive on the highway. I no longer need the vehicle. I have bought a newer minivan.
2) someone added factory cruise control, but under the dash there was no factory wiring harness, so the 4 wires from the cruise switch need to be connected to the cruise control on the inner fender in the engine compartment. 2 go to the brake light wires; 2 go to the fender unit it appears. I found a wiring diagram; I may be able to find it again.
3) despite brand new paint job, there are a few small chips, but gasoline ran over while fueling, and bubbled the paint below the gas cap opening.
4) a fourth item perhaps is that this is a carbureted engine, and sometimes is a little boggy taking off after sitting at a red light for example. Runs fine otherwise.
