1934 Plymouth Other Additional Info:

Up for sale is a 1934 Plymouth PE Convertible. This is the first year for hydraulic brakes on the Plymouth. This was a very clean and nice car before the previous owner took it into a well-known restoration shop for a total concourse restoration. The car was completely disassembled and the restoration was well underway when the owner ran into financial difficulties and unfortunately was forced to sell the car. The owner was about $30,000 deep into the restoration, with $11,000 spent on chrome, before the restoration was stopped. We have quickly bolted the large parts back onto the car so you can see the body together, plus it will make shipping easier. We did not spend time trying to align the body panels. The engine is missing, although most of the components, except the block, are present.

Chassis: the frame was also very nice with the slightest pitting. It was blasted and painted during the restoration. I would suggest re-painting the frame during the restoration. The front suspension with steering is complete. The rear differential under the car is missing the center section. There is another '34 rear axle that is included, however, it is a heavier rear axle. All the brakes were new prior to the restoration are all useable. The wheels were blasted and painted. All 4 tires, plus the spare are new with no miles, although mounted on the car in the restoration shop, they are semi-dirty.

Body: the body is extremely clean for a car of this age. As you can see in the bare metal pics, there are places where metal was replaced. It is not a good repair so it would need to be re-done in my opinion. The body was metal etched and epoxy primed. The doors are in excellent condition. There is zero rust. The same goes for the fenders and rumble seat lid. Many of the parts have scratches from the parts being moved around shops. The floors are completely solid and appear to be original. There is a slight amount of rust holes in the convertible top well. It appears to have been scaly and holes appeared when blasted. The back of the rear fenders have some body filler, as does the rear valence.

Interior: the seats have been redone prior to the most recent restoration. They are a nice brown vinyl and look stock. All 4 seat pieces are there. The dash trim is good. There are 2 gauge clusters and both are in pretty decent condition. I'm not sure which one came with the car.

Chrome Trim: $11,000 was spent on re-chrome. This will make this car look unbelievable once completed. The grille, headlights, windshield frame, both bumpers, 5 wheel caps, convertible top linkage, tail light brackets and misc. other pieces. All chrome is shown in the pictures.

Drivetrain: the engine apparently had some issues and the block was un-usable. I no longer have the block. Included is the crankshaft, pistons, rods, heads, exhaust and intake manifolds, distributor, wires, water pump, generator, starter, fuel pump, etc. The transmission is included with the bell housing and a newer clutch and pressure plate. The exhaust system is new front to back.

There are extra parts from multiple cars as you will notice in the pictures. This was a complete and running car so I believe all the parts are present, however, I cannot guarantee it. If you don't see something, please ask and I will go look for it. You are also welcome to come out and inspect the car yourself. I have taken a couple hundred pictures and they can be viewed at the following location:

I was informed that the first year for hydraulic brakes on the Plymouth was 1928. Sorry about any confusion.
