Here is my personal 1971 Plymouth Duster Resto-Mod classic cruiser Show Car.
Yes it's Sassy grass green with no expense spared on this $40K 16 year build. My brother started in 2000 and I finished it in 2015 and drove it to cruises and shows last summer for 2000 miles.
The car looks like a drag car but in fact it is street legal and licensed in Vermont. It has never been raced and runs and drives great. The motor sounds BAD ASS uh, mean awesome.
Beginning under the hood: The engine is a new genuine Mopar Performance 360 Magnum pushing 385 HP and 420 lbs of torquewith a Holly 750 double pumper, complete MSD ignition and 1 3/4" Hooker Super competition headers. The trunk is fitted with a 15 gallon Fuel cell and battery relocation kit for improved balance.
The transmission is a 904 torque flitebuilt by Dynamic Racing with a Torque Converter Technologies torque converter and a B&M flex plate mated to a Hurst shifter.
The drive shaft is aluminumwith billet yokesbuilt and balanced by Inland Empire with an Auburn 8 3/4" narrowed and braced positraction rear end run through Moser Axles.
Stopping this car are 4 Willwood 4 piston brake calipersall around.
This car is not equipped with parking brakes. This is the one thing to address prior to State inspection. There arestrap type parking brake setups available that grabs the drive shaft.
The rear wheel housings have been professionally tubbed and stuffed with 3 piece Weld lightweight alloy wheels with Mickey Thompson 325/50/15 ET street radial DOT slicks in the rear and M/T 15" sportsman series 26X8.00/R15/LT tires up front.
The interior is gorgeous and appears stock except for the Huge Tachometer and Hurst shifter.
The seats, arpeting and headlinerwere done professionally. The tunes are Alpine with Polk Audio speakers. This car runs and sounds awesome.
The paint, ubbingand steel body work are fantastic. There are 3 very small chips in paint.
Thiscar is currently registered in Vermont as an Antique Vehicle.
