Unique, rare, and historically significant, this beautiful 1956 Packard Executive is one of those coupes that instantly draws you in with its appearance, and that's why you won't believe the value price.Just imagine cruising around in this distinctive hardtop. Packard was the true premier brand for the discerning wealthy crowd, and this one shows it off perfectly. Where others have a two-tone car, this one is a tri-tone! The dark blue and white are a fine coordinating pair thanks to the light blue providing a middle tone. Also helping to make this presentation so nice is the fact that anywhere there is a color change, there's also bright trim used as a separating line. Speaking of brightwork, Packard really did a fantastic job merging the wide chrome bumper and grille into an interlocking design. In the rear it's a similar story with the with the bumper caps mimicking the tailfin curve and integrating the dual exhaust. The Executive line was meant to be the middle model of the full Packard offerings, but that still meant you were giving up a nice Buick for the price of this coupe. More importantly, it arrived in mid-year 1956, and that's quite significant. Packard shut its original Detroit factory in the summer of '56, and the Studebaker-based cars that were introduced for '57 were very different. So with only about half a year on the market, there were only about 1,000 Executive coupes ever built. That made it a rare sight 60 years ago, and it's a truly unique find today!Just like the exterior, the interior is a cool tri-tone experience. The two blues from the outside return for a nice uniform touch, but now the white has been replaced by gray cloth to give you exceptionally comfortable seat inserts. As you can see from the pictures, there is a fantastic level of presentation inside this coupe. The dash still has its elegant sweeping panel that goes all the way across. You have all the controls at your fingertips, and just beyond the original-style wheel is a full set of original gauges. But what will impress you the most is this is a power window car, and yes, they still work! So you don't have to leave the driver's seat to roll down all the windows for the full pillarless hardtop experience.Under the hood is the correct Packard/Clipper 352 cubic-inch V8. It looks great in the engine bay with its big bold air grabber and golden Packard labeled valve covers. This motor was a new edition into the Packard lineup (first seen in '55), but it spent a long time in development to make sure it upheld the company's luxury and durability image. So the V8 won't hot rod off the line, but with a four-barrel carburetor and dual exhaust, you will pleasantly surprised by the ability this gentleman's coupe has to make a few rowdy sounds when the accelerator is prodded. Add in a push-button three-speed automatic and power steering, and this is one heck of a cruising machine.A rare and interesting coupe that turns heads and has a story to tell. You'd gladly pay double the asking price for a Packard like that. So would a lot of other enthusiasts, too, so hurry up and grab this deal. Call today!!!
