Experience the timeless elegance of a 1935 Packard Dietrich 1201 Phaeton, a true classic car that merges historical significance with a vibrant aesthetic. Its striking yellow exterior pairs flawlessly with the red interior, creating a visually stunning vehicle that's sure to turn heads. The phaeton body type, combined with a manual transmission and sturdy 8-cylinder engine, offers a hands-on driving experience that's both exhilarating and nostalgic. This Packard is a well-loved piece of automotive history. It boasts a clean title, a left-hand drive configuration, and a spacious interior with seating for five, making it an ideal choice for both avid collectors and those who appreciate the grandeur of classic cars.Having made many great memories with this Packard automobile it is time to let another custodian make their own lasting memories. This 1935 Packard Eight Phaeton, Model 1201 is one of approximately 20 known to have been manufactured in 1935, and is an excellent example of an older restoration by Gino Parisi, who owned the car almost 50 years. Gino purchased the Packard from the owner of the Salem Ohio newspaper in the 1960's, Tom Crook noted Packard authority and collector purchased the car in 2013 from Gino's family, and I purchased the Packard from Tom in 2015. All of the original Dietrich, and Packard body tags are present. I commissioned the mechanical restoration in 2015 with Ernie Foster, prominent Packard and Lincoln expert, the engine, brakes, and transmission were all rebuilt. The engine is a 320 cubic inch straight eight making 130 hp, backed by a 3 speed manual transmission. The radiator was recently recored, and a new syphon thermostat installed, the grill shutters open and close as they should. The generator was restored by Jason at AER Electrical Engineering and an NOS voltage regulator was installed at the same time. This Packard runs cool, shifts smooth and stops great. The car shows no signs of ever having been in an accident, any rust, wood rot or replacement, this is a very nice solid car. The 17" wire wheels are wrapped in newer Firestone tires. The paint shows very well, but has a small bit of patina and lacquer checking, the chrome is in great shape and the interior is very nice. This car is ready for Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) tours and events, and any Packard events. This is a great driver, one of my finest memories was winning the CCCA Touring Class with this Packard at the CCCA Grand Classic held at the San Marino Motor Classic in 2017, The touring class is for former #1 automobiles that have been driven, and that is what this automobile is, a great driver that you can show and take to the burger stand on a Saturday night.
