1937 Packard Model 115-C Touring Sedan Additional Info:
1937 Packard 115c 4-door Touring Sedan
This beautiful and classic Art Deco inspired car was originally sold in Oregon and spent it's life there until recently. Mileage 47,650 and is said to be original although I cannot guaranteed it, the car was reportedly in storage from 1957 to 2015.
the original Packard 6 engine (237 C.I., 100 hp) that starts easily and runs
well. Three speed manual transmission that shifts smoothly.
The car has no significant rust, only some minor scaling on the under carriage. The body is very straight and true with no dents or fillers that I can find. The paint is bright and shiny but does have defects including scrapes and scratches, especially around the hood, headlamps, grill and cowl. The running board rubber mats are deteriorating and need replacing.
Chrome is good on bumpers, door and window hardware. It has all four correct hubcaps and wheel trim rings.
At some point a new wiring harness should be considered. The current wiring works fine but is old and brittle with some deterioration in the insulation. Speedometer, oil pressure, generator charge gauges work, gas gauge, water temp, clock, and horn do not. I believe the non-working gauges and horn are a result of wiring issues, not defective parts.
The suspension works great with the legendary Packard ride (coil spring independent front suspension).
Recent work:
New tires.
New brakes (hydraulic).
Complete new interior including seats, door cards, head liner, carpet with insulated floors.
Fuel tank boiled and painted.
New muffler and exhaust pipe.
New vinyl top insert.
New plugs and plug wires.
New coil.
Five lap belts installed.
Radiator flushed and new thermostat installed.
New rubber seals on doors and trunk.
Includes car cover.
All-in-all this is an exceptional example of a classic Packard at a very affordable price. This car is currently a "driver", but could be converted and upgraded to a show car with relatively little cost.
NADA Price Guide: Low retail-$10,350; Average retail-$20,000; High retail-$35,400!!
