1937 Packard 1083 Four Door Sedan Additional Info:
I am selling my 1937 Packard 115C Four Door Sedan, model 1083.
I had purchased this car a few years ago from the previous owner that had it stored in his heated building since 2003.
He had purchased it from a barn storage in a nearby town and was going to perform a father - son project but stopped after partially removing a portion of the old wiring harness, the front end sheetmetal and two broken windows, the front driver window and rear passenger window.
Since I have owned the car, the motor has been stripped and painted, the oil pan gasket was replaced as well as the valve cover gasket. The internals on this motor are very clean. The transmissionand motor mounts have been replaced. The radiator has been cleaned and tested. The water distribution tube, the water pump and the rubber hoses have all been replaced.
The fuel tank has been removed, cleaned and sealed. The fuel pump has been rebuilt and the car has only been run with Non-ethanol gasoline.
The front brake shoes have been re-lined, the wheel cylinders have been honed and kits installed and all of the drums have been turned. The wheel brake hardware has also been replaced as well asone of the rear emergency brake cables. The master cylinder has also been rebuilt.
I have installed a wiring harness from Narrangansett Reproductions. I have not finished attaching the final connections at the lights. The under-dash portion is complete.
The body is very solid on this car as can be seen.
The paint and interior are in need of restoration, however, the car runs very well and can be driven and stopped as can be seen in the video below.
I have also purchased the two new window glass units for the two side windows that are set in their channels, however, I will not be installing them as I do not have time. I have partially attached thetwo door panels so that any prospective buyer can see that they are present for templates.
The hardware and window glass are shown in the attached pictures.
I have decided to let this car go since I no longer have the time to dedicate to it.
If you have specific questions or would like different photographs, please send me your telephone number through e-bay and I will call you back.
The car is being sold in "AS-IS" condition and "where-is". While I am happy to try to answer questions or provide more photographs, and I think that this a great solid car, it is up to any bidder todetermine if the condition is to their satisfaction. Inspections are welcomed and encouraged.
The car is expected to be collected upon the transfer of title to buyer. The car and title will not transfer until all funds have cleared at my bank. Once the funds have cleared, the car is free to be takenor it may remain in it's current location for no more than three weeks without prior written agreement. I am sensitive to the issues associated with shippers.
Once the E-bay sale has completed, there is a $500 non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours. Only the deposit may be paid through paypal. The balance of the amount due is due within4 business days of the close of the E-bay sale (although the option indicates three days).
If you have a feedback rating of less than 5, please contact me prior to bidding.
The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to cancel the advertisement at anytime.
Thank you for looking and please have a great day.
