1957 Tom Culbertson Custom T-Bird "Roxanne" I am very excited to be the new owner of this Tom Culbertson, award winning, one-of-a-kind Jet-Age inspired custom 1957 Ford Thunderbird nickname "Roxanne". This fabulous showcar is all-steel construction with all components welded in and skim coated smooth, remeniscent of the Jet-Age inspired "Big Three" prototypes that today costs upwards $400,000.
The body is all hand formed steel of a 1957 Ford Thunderbird with many body modifications built by Tom Culbertstn of Culbertson's Customs based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. The inspiration for "Roxanne" came from Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and George Barris designs from the 1950's and is finished in a high gloss brilliant gold metallic paint with high profiled tailfins, custom grille and a chopped windshield.
One of the striking features is the fully custom white Naugahyde vinyl not only accented in the interior of the cockpit but also the wheel wells and hood pad which set apart a show car from a mundane cruiser. The steering wheel is a late '50's Plymouth Aero wheel, and also a custom shifter and of course, a retro rotary phone attached to the center of the floorboard. The trunk is equipped with a restored 1950's Admiral television and matching accessories accented in 14-karat gold.
Under the hood, this show stopping roadster sports a high-performance 351-CID Ford V8 engine mated with a Ford C4 automatic transmission, both rebuilt before installation. The engine sits in a show prepared engine bay and the car comes with a custom made tonneau cover to protect it from the elements when parked outside but does not have a hard or sift top as this is a fair weather roadster.
Roxanne has NEVER failed to win, show or place in any auto show in which she was entered and has been published in numerous magazines and newspaper articles, as this car is a global sensation that will be a unique and exciting addition to any world-class automobile collection.
