The time has come to sell my 1963 VW Ratrod built by Berg Visions in Columbia, SC. I have so enjoyed owning this VW. Here is a great way to get a classic split widow single cab at a great price. Here are the details:
About six years ago I swapped the engine it came with and ran it for years until finally it developed an oil leak bad enough that I do not wish to pursue and fix it and give a fellow VW enthusiast the chance to get "Merica" back on the road where he belongs. In short, Merica needs some engine repair/engine swap to make him road worthy. My air-cooled mechanic says the pushrod tube seal at the base of the block is the issue.
Merica has been sitting for about six months now. All signals and lights work. No radio. Cyclops light works. Safari windows. Truck has been clear coated to preserve the patina look and the vinyl interior is like new. Frame and rockers are all in solid and the floor and treasure chest/storage area are solid as well. I noticed the throttle cable is currently unattached from the accelerator. Transmission shifts smoothly, emergency brake works and brakes are very good.
This is an easy project for the VW guru out there looking for a unique ride to keep and enjoy or flip for profit. Merica turns heads everywhere he goes. Happy to answer questions and will respond timely. My Ebay feedback is flawless and I take pride in communication and working with the Ebay community.
