The good:
Runs and drives great. New wheels, tires, (including spare wheel and tire) wheel bearings, rebuilt brakes, rebuilt CV axles with fresh boots, and new steering. Fresh oil change and no leaks, and still has the original oil-through air filter. Luggage rack up top that’s just dying for a surf board.
Still needs:
Some wiring for lights, bodywork, paint, and interior dress. Needs bumpers and heater box work if you want heat.
I bought this beetle several years ago with the intention of making a perfectly stock beetle. It starts right away and runs like a top. It even has the original windshield-wiper-fluid powered by the spare tire pressure, though it’s going to need some new seals for this to work. Frame and suspension are in great shape, floor pans are solid, and even that spot under the battery that’s rotted out of most beetles is just fine there.
So why don’t I finish? I don’t have the space for bodywork and paint, which is where we’ve got to go next. Until then, it’s ready to drive. Not interested in trades.
We have done a title search on the VIN and it doesn't seem to have ever been registered. Bill of Sale Only. No significant damage.
A fantastic project car! Super cool luggage rack waiting for a surfboard.
