I bought this 2 years ago partly to get it away from the butcher putting a 350 Chevy engine in and mostly because a finished driving Daytona convertible is a beautiful car. 2 owners previous took out the TT rear end (mistake) and installed a Ford 9". They did a good job installing Mustang 2 front end with rack & pinion steering & disc brakes but I'm not a fan of the wheel spacers. It had some hideous low rider wheels on it so I put back on original rims with narrow white walls. I bought a non running Studebaker cloverleaf 289 and an original steering column so I could graft old with new steering. The 289 is stuck, as I got it and I have not tried to do anything with it. It came with a 2 barrel carb. The car came with a T5 transmission and the original driveshaft. The trunk is full of parts including excellent condition hub caps. The windshield is cracked but I bought a good used and have new rubber. In fact lots of new rubbers and trim parts.
Vehicle Details
The only rust I can find on this car is on the battery tray. Part of the tunnel was cut out but is included (previous owner did that). The soft top is not here but local upholstery shop found them in their catalog. Includes cylinders for the motorized top.
