1969 Pontiac Le Mans Additional Info:
Up for auction is a 1969 Pontiac LeMans Convertible. II purchased this car to serve as a parts car for a 1969 GTO project. However, the GTO has been sold so I no longer need this LeMans. You can see from the photos that this car is in pretty rough condition. One of the prior owners of this car covered it with a heavy tarp in an attempt to protect it. All they did was to accelerate its deterioration in my opinion.
Like I mentioned, this car was purchased to be a parts car. The engine is locked up. I have never made an attempt to get the engine free. When purchased the radiator was almost full of coolant and the oil looked free of moisture. The car rolls easily but the brakes do not work. The car has its original 350 2-barrel engine as well as the original Muncie 4 speed transmission. The original posi rearend is still in place also. Odometer is showing 47,266 miles.
Overall, the frame, which is different on convertibles, appears to be fairly solid. There are a few places on the frame that will require some work, but I do not see any places of rust through on the frame. The original air cleaner is missing. Also missing are the top alternator brackets. There may be other items missing. The lip for the trunk weatherstrip has lots of rust. The rest of the body has lots of rust also. The frame for the convertible top appears that it is mostly complete. The convertible top frame also appears to be salvageable.
As you can see from the photos the car still has its wood steering wheel, factory gauges and factory AM/FM radio. The 4-core Harrison radiator has a PA code on the metal tag. I believe the radiator is original to the car. The fan shroud appears to be original and intact. Once again, every body panel has rust. The floor pans and trunk pan have rust. The hood is super rusty and currently will not close. I am going to try and soak the hood hinges with penetrant in an effort to get the hood to close a little more as I know that will make transport easier.
I will assist with loading of this vehicle for transport. There is a possibility that I might could deliver this car within a 200-mile radius of McDonough, GA. for an additional fee. However, the car would have to be paid for in full first. I do not have a title for this car. This car was sold new in Georgia. Georgia is a no title state. I have a current Georgia tag receipt in my name. It is my understanding that with the GA tag receipt that a title can be acquired in states that require them.
I do not want to part out this car, but I may be forced to do so if it does not meet reserve. I believe that I have set a fair reserve for how this car was optioned. Car can be viewed in McDonough, GA. Car is for sale locally as well. Car is sold AS IS. Thanks for your interest.
