We have a 1955 Cushman Eagle that has been custom restored with a sidecar and powered by a 724cc Crosley Overhead Cam four cylinder engine that produces 26.5 horsepower! Over three times more power than the factory 8 horsepower Cushman engine! Cushman started out in 1903 as a small engine manufacturer. Gasoline-powered internal combustion engines were rapidly being fitted to bicycles, carriages, and all manner of industrial and farm equipment – so the small Lincoln, Nebraska-based company was kept exceedingly busy The Cushman Eagle is almost certainly the company’s most famous model, largely thanks to its memorable design and the immense desirability it enjoyed among the country’s teenagers (and many adults). The Eagle represented another clever pivot from the team at Cushman – the austere economic environment of the pre-WWII era had been replaced by a booming economy, so the new model was quickly developed using many off the shelf parts to reduce the required capital outlay. This 1955 Cushman has been custom restored with a custom welded steel tubing sidecar with storage cooler that has a matching fender and wheel. The motorcycle has had the power plant upgraded to CIBA 724cc Crosley Overhead Cam four cylinder engine and a Crosley three-speed manual transmission. The bike has electric start and custom gauges with temperature, oil and voltage.VIN: 022164 This motorcycle is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri.
