1982 Mercedes Benz 300 SD Zebrano wood interior trim Additional Info:
I HATE SELLING THIS CAR....I recently bought this sweet 300SD (2 previous owners) with full intentions of having a very low milage daily driver that looked great and had been treated well and only needed a couple of small non essential things done to make it perfect... such as the driver seat needs to move forward and backward( I think it’s off one rail... motor works). Other functions of up and down and back tilting in all directions works perfectly. The passenger seat functions perfectly. The left rear passenger window moved slowly up and down is the other issue but I have purchased a motor that will go to the buyer of this amazing car. Otherwise the interior leather is in near mint condition with no rips or tears or wear. All dash instruments work perfectly... interior lights..glove box light and visor lights work as they should. I installled new old stock factory correct sun visors. There are a small couple of cracks in the the dash. The aftermarket radio functions fine... Antenna goes up and down but not all the way. I installed custom made color coordinated coco mats and they look stunning. The headlights and fog lamps and parking lights and all rear lights and turn signals work perfectly. All guages work perfectly and the clock keeps amazingly accurate time. The sun roof opens and closes as it should. There are no interior water leaks.I had also planned to get the cruise control working if I kept it but do not consider this essential. The door locks function perfectly with the vacuum line locking all doors with a turn of the key. The interior zebrano wood is in like new condition. The AC blows cold and the heater works perfectly.
The previous owner did quite a bit of important basic maintenance things that are evident in the extensive accompanying receipts.
The body is TOTALLY rust free...with no dings or dents and has never been wrecked...The paint is original and in beautiful shape for a 37 year old car that was always garaged and never driven in salt.
The powerhouse of this car is the bulletproof “million mile”cast iron (M617) engine. With the current 93K actual miles it has on it means it is barely broken in. There are no oil leaks or fluid leaks. There is no smoke on start up or acceleration. The transmission shifts smooth as silk.It has all brand new belts... a new battery...recent oil change...brake fluid flush...tire balance and rotation and front end alignment... It drives like a brand new car!!! Much much more has been done to make this car as amazing as it is and it’s all documented in the paperwork...The front windshield has an old repair in the lower right quadrant . I had a new rubber rear window seal installed and a spherical (inside the glass) crack appeared... Behind the back seat (in the rear window space) is the factory sealed original emergency first aid kit never touched.
The tires are Michelin Defender’s with around 1000 miles on them...basically like new. The factory bundt wheels are in excellent shape... The lug nuts need painting. The spare is the unused original and has the jack that has never been removed. The trunk space is dry and pristine. And as seen in the pics... a brand new custom outdoor car cover is included...
So.... if you are looking for a perfect show car this one as it is is a little short of being that car. But if you want a beautiful...straight...solid... reliable...YOUNG.... DRIVER....THIS IS DEFINITELY IT !!!!As far as drivability and function the car needs nothing...No matter where you live it’s ready to take you home from the airport when you come to pick it up.
Every time I take it out it gets attention and “thumbs up” from others going down the interstate...
I’m regretfully selling this beautiful SD because I have found my dream 1985 300D and need the garage space... The 300SD needs a good home as it has many, many years and miles to go..
I would not hesitate to drive this car cross country in its current condition ...You won’t be disappointed!
I have a clean title in hand.
