Interesting history of car, Built at GM South Gate PlantCalifornia. The1st yearImpala's were builtat GM's west coast plant I think, bought new at Enoch Chevrolet Long Beach California. Car spent 29 years in California, putting 77,000 miles on it. Car came to OhioinAugustof1993. For the 24 years car has beenin Ohio only 5,463 miles were put on it. Just over 200 miles a year, with 82,463 actual documented miles on car, when I purchased it. I only drive car to local car show's, and only put 700 or somiles it. Odometer now reads 83,165 miles.I bought the car from a well to do84 year old women whom inherited car from her father in 1993. Sadly she was unable to drive her familyvacation car any more, so her 83 year old husband put car up for sale. For her 80th birthday, the car was sent to a classic car shop to haveengine restored. I do not know what all was done to the engine. I askedforthe paperworkbut he was upset that shop scratched, and dinged the cowl when they put the hood back on.The tire & brake shop dented the hub cap, runs on unleaded fuel;and that it cost a lot of money, was all I got out him on that experience. Man was very meticulas, and said car has never seen rain, or snow in Ohio. Also car has never been wet, only wiped down, then covered. He sure loved his wife. Took a lot for her to walk in the bank, and sign the title over.Very attached to car I understand; like I still want the 67 442 my Dad bought brand new. Still have the 63 truck my Uncle Larry bought brand new.Driven on holiday's &Sunday's.Condition of car, Interior is like new, non smoker, headliner is perfect, rearsail panel nicealong with original carpet no stains, all gauges work look new, radio works along with both speakers, radio tunes in clear, and you can listen to the ball game.Clock is slow, cigarette lighter never used, and works. No sun or waterdamage, mold smell, or mice, interior has never been out of car, mostly untouched. Fuse box &glove box like new.Front bucket seatsfactory original, rear seat looks like its never been sat in. Icare fully slid rear seat forward, forgetting 64 had no rear seat belts, and with a mirrorfound a hand written factory build sheet ; along with Texacogas receiptsfrom early 70's at 53 cent a gallon. Disneyland brochure,May of 68 only $ 4.75 a pass to get in.No silver coins found yet... There probably is more build sheets in car, but did not want to take car apart to look. Think there's 8 places they are found, under carpet front right seat etc.Car was repaintedin earlyin late 60s at the Chevrolet Garage, and is still in Lacquer Paint. Original owner was unhappy with paint, hadthe General Motors dealer re-spray it.All the paint isgood condition, no cracks or checking, but there are several chips, scratches, that are brush touched, along with a fewwheel chair dings on right quarter. All the stainless, and chrome very good condition, no fading, hardly any pitting on diecast. No stress cracks on a-pillars, as car has not been abused. All the body seams nice no cracking, or rust.Clarity of taillights like new. All the factory weather strip still on car, pliable, not dried out; tinted glass is perfect. No rustunder hood, or deck lid rear. Engine compartment new battery, oil & filter, coolant, andair filterrecently changed, new heat riser. Engine runs smooth, Rochester 4 Jet carburetor works goodalong withchoke. No large oil leaks.Drives strait down the road like a 64 should. New brakes and tires only have 800 miles on them. Up until 2014 car still had JC Penny Mileage Maker II's wide white'son it. One of themis on the spare tire now. No holes or rust in trunk areawhatsoever. Factory jack &spare present, along withoriginal trunk mats. Factory floor mats are gone, but new carpeted mats are in trunk. What the car needs:Reproduction floor mats, they make them in Fawn now.;a good professional detail, and polish.40 years ofTurtle Wax are packed in all the chrome strips, emblems, andmoldings. Figure it best for new owner todetail car, remembering itsoldacrylic lacquer paint.Exhaust is still original andgood, but will need replaced someday, as hangers are drying. Noexhaust leaks, canhardly hear it running at stop lights. There is no rust on chassis,or heavy rust pitting. Only rust on car is right quarter, and left fender (pictured). Norattlesat all, steering & suspension excellent condition like a well maintainedCalifornia caris. Reliable, starts every time, idles down, jet smooth.Control arm bushings ball joints good condition.I will add or email pictures of underbody. Black plates go with car. Matching suitcase, travel items, old maps, car cover, and everything, goes with car pictured. Also any serious interest I will email pictures of any areas needed. Or car can be looked at in person, and test driven.Retired, moving to Florida, have to many cars. One of the nicest mostlyuntouched, original, rust-freeImpala's aroundfor the money, low reserve.
