1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Additional Info:

This 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme has fewer than 33,000 original miles and remains all stock. It was sold new in North Carolina and remained there until I bought it (with 27,000 miles) in 2017. The car is rust-free – even under the vinyl top. Paint and stripes are original, applied at the Doraville, Georgia Oldsmobile plant. The ‘plastic-chrome’ trim on the body side moldings is crinkly in a couple of places, but does not detract from the car’s appearance. The bumper fillers appear to have been replaced, and are in like-new condition. My best guess is that the Olds dealer that sold this car in 1991 replaced them before the sale. Interior is all original, except for the driver’s side lower (hard plastic) door panel, which I replaced due to deterioration. The imitation inlaid wood trim on the steering wheel is intact, but slightly warped. Seats are in amazing condition, as are carpet and other interior materials.

The car runs and drives beautifully, and everything works except for the clock. The heat is hot, and the (R-12) air conditioning is cold. The original Delco AM/FM four-speaker stereo sounds great too. I have spent $6,387 in repairs and regular maintenance since I purchased the car eight years ago (Copies of receipts are available upon request.) The car passes its California smog inspection every two years, and it remains all stock. I have taken the car on a couple of 600-mile trips, where it got 17 MPG on the highway. It is supremely comfortable for long or short drives. I know it sounds cliché, but I would have no worry about hopping into the car and heading out on a 1,000+ mile trip tomorrow.

This Cutlass was on display for several months in the “That ‘70s Car Show” exhibit at the San Diego Auto Museum in early 2020 (before the museum shut due to Covid).

Here is the list of options on the car, per the window sticker:

-Deluxe front/rear seat belts

-Soft-Ray tinted glass

-Power windows

-Front and rear floor mats

-Body side moldings

-Door edge guards

-Landau top

-Four-Season air conditioning

-Oldsmobile “Rocket” 350 4-barrel V8

-Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission

-Tilt steering wheel

-Super Stock II wheels

-AM/FM Stereophonic radio

-Convenience group

-Accent stripe

The original window sticker is included in the sale, along with all my receipts and much documentation from the two prior owners. The personalized license plate and the license plate frame are not included with the sale of the car.

Here is the car’s history, in terms of ownership:

On February 28, 1977, Kermit and Wilda Mae Everhart took delivery of this brand new 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, with only 10 miles on the odometer, from Regal Oldsmobile in Winston-Salem NC. Kermit passed away in January 1990 at age 72, and in 1991, Wilda Mae sold or traded the Cutlass to Lexington Motor Company, Inc. (Oldsmobile/Cadillac dealership) in Lexington, NC. The Cutlass had only 24,979 miles on it at the time. The Oldsmobile/Cadillac dealership sold the car to 52-year-old Yvonne Irene Callicutt a month later for $5,000 – quite a sum for a 13-year-old used car in 1991. Interestingly, Mrs. Callicutt previously owned a 1977 Cutlass Supreme in this same color combination. Apparently, Mrs. Callicutt drove this car very sparingly, as I bought the car in 2017 with just 27,000 miles on it. I have driven the car a little more than 5,000 miles, as the odometer now reads just over 32,700 miles.

This Cutlass is in excellent condition but it is a 48-year-old car, and is not perfect. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the vehicle’s condition, please contact me BEFORE bidding.
