1947 Oldsmobile 70 Series Additional Info:

1947 Oldsmobile 2 door "fastback"- 70 series, "B" body, longer wheelbase than Chevy. Please note: this is a project car, much work has been done, but much work needs to be done before this car will be road ready. The car does not run, the engine installed will need rebuilt, the car rolls and steers, and will load onto or into trailer. I started work on this car about 15 years ago. Several household moves, health issues etc brought progress to a halt. I hate to sell it, but to be realistic it needs to go to someone who has the resources to finish the car.Details: The body was pretty straight and was rust free except for one small spot on the floor that has been repaired, the floor-pan and trunk are in nice shape. The lower rear sections of the front fenders need a little minor body work to be ready for primer. The front bumper is all NOS, the rear bumper center section is also NOS, some exterior trim such as the wing hood ornament is also NOS. All original glass is present except the windshield, which is flat glass that any glass shop can cut. The interior has a beautiful NOS steering wheel and horn ring, the dashboard main bezel was re-chromed (cost $900.00!) and gauge and clock/glove box bezels and wing window frames were re-chromed. There are more interior NOS parts, such as dash switches and knobs, door and window cranks etc.The seats are present, the frames, springs, adjusters all are in good shape, they will of course need to be re-upholstered. A Vintage Air heater and AC unit is mounted under the dash, will still need to be connected. An aftermarket 2 speed wiper motor and controls are included. An IRS front suspension with disk brakes and a power rack from an AMC Pacer was added, the stock steering column was shortened and connected with Borgeson joints and shafting to the rack. A hydrovac brake unit and master cylinder w/pedal has been installed under the floor (brakes not plumbed yet). A 455 Olds engine and turbo 400 trans are mounted, would need rebuilt. The rear axle has been replaced with a 12 bolt Chevy unit mounted to the stock Olds trailing arm suspension, the rear axle was narrowed 2" and built with all new gears, posi unit and shafts by Dutchman axles. My reserve won't won't cover half of the cost of the parts I've bought! My plan was to leave the car basically stock appearing, but this car would make an outstanding mild custom or full-on lead sled!If you have questions, get them to me asap, and I will try to get them answered.Car is currently located in Fortuna, CA a few miles south of Eureka CA, Clean Oregon Title in my name.Payment by Paypal only.
