1947 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser Additional Info:
1947 Oldsmobile Aero Coupe full custom restoration. This Oldsmobile is the result of many years of hard work and tens of thousands of dollars spent in parts alone. I have fully documented every step of the build complete with pictures and explanations of each process. You will not find a more documented build out there. Start to finish all work was photographed so you can see all the details. This 1947 Oldsmobile is an absolutely beautiful car and is ready to cruise at car shows, travel route 66 or head down to “hot August nights”. I would not hesitate allowing my daughter to hop in this and drive it to Florida just the way it sits! Absolutely nothing has been left untouched and it has been built with long distance driving in mind. It has an Chevrolet 350 all rebuilt, mated to a turbo 350 automatic and a newer rebuilt rear end for a super reliable and bulletproof drivetrain. Power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, power windows, tilt steering wheel, power seat, intermittent wipers and an AM-FM Bluetooth stereo were added for comfort on the long drives. The frame has been treated to a complete make over using a “Fatman Mustang II front suspension complete with tubular “A” arms and coil over shocks with power rack and pinion steering. The rear end was fitted with an Art Morrison Triangulated 4 link suspension and Strange coil over shocks. I also boxed areas of the frame for added stiffness and to help make this car drive like a new car of today. The frame was then sent out for a complete sandblasting and powdercoat. The body has been removed from the frame, placed on a rotisserie and been completely worked over. Whatever needed to be replaced, repaired or modified was done to make this rust free and ready to go another 75 years. I did a few body mods to make this a little more custom and a little less stock so it can stand out in a crowd. All of this work is fully documented with pictures so you can really see the attention to detail. The body was then painted with a beautiful dark metallic blue base coat/clear coat that just shines. The interior is completely custom as well. I started with late model interior components for absolute comfort on long trips. All custom upholstery throughout and key features like bucket seats, center console with cup holder, stereo, new gauges switches and dials make this a great place to travel in. The dashboard was completely restored as well. I sent this out to a specialty shop where they rebuilt the entire dash cluster with all new parts modified to work with modern sensors off the motor. It looks like it did in 1947 but works like 2007. This is very comfortable and again, nothing was left untouched and everything is either new or rebuilt. As you can see from the photos it is beautiful. I have spent years on this project and spared no expense. I built this not as a show car but as something I could drive anywhere at any time in comfort and dependability. This is a car I drive on a very regular basis to work and events, it is not something that just sits gathering dust. Overall it is a beautiful car that performs extremely well and is something you can be proud to own and drive daily. There is no way you can duplicate this for the selling price. I have way more than twice what I am asking just in parts alone making this an absolute bargain! If you have been looking for something to cruise in, stand out in a crowd and not spent $100k then this is for you. Take a look at the photos and you can see how much work went into this. As I said, I have a complete book of photos and documentation that really tells a story and is far more detailed than what I could put in this ad. Please contact me if you have any questions.
