1958 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Convertible Additional Info:

Here is truly an ultra-rare find, a 1958 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight convertible in amazing condition, almost completely original except for one repaint over 40 years ago and new carpet. When was the last time you saw a '58 Oldsmobile survivor, much less a 98 convertible? And to top it off, this is a factory J2 tri-power car from new. This was the top-of-the-line Oldsmobile in 1958 and one of the most desirable of all 1950s classic cars. They called it the king of chrome due to it having the most chrome of any car produced. This amazing car has been in a private collection since 2007, showing only 105K original miles and is now available for its next caretaker.

Restored examples of these '58 Oldsmobile convertibles bring from $150K to as high as $250K. I would classify this one as a beautiful driver in highly original condition throughout. They are only original once, and this car you can actually drive and have fun with, without worrying about getting a chip or scratch. Or take it to the next level and have a multiple six-figure car. Either way, you have an amazing investment, and just try to find another one. You won't because there are none out there. I can tell you the last two 1958 Oldsmobiles I owned were hardtops. One was a super nice 88 that I sold for $49K just this past year, and the other was a 98 that sold for $90K. This car is a 98, a convertible, and a J2, and is at a bargain price. Do not miss out, as you will not see another one like this available for a long time, if at all.

This car has a completely rust-free body and underside that is dry as a bone. You can even see the original red oxide paint on the underside of the floor pans. It received one repaint in its original color of Tropical Mist Iridescent over 40 years ago that still shows very well and is great for cruising. Unbelievably, the original paint and weatherstripping are still in the door jams and trunk. The tri-tone leather interior is completely original, except for new carpeting. The leather seats and door panels have some patina but show great and really look cool. Under the hood and inside the trunk are completely original as well.

It is in excellent mechanical condition as it runs and drives excellently. Most everything works in the car, like the original AM radio, power windows, and seat, just to name a few. It is ready to jump in and enjoy. It is refreshing to see a nice original classic when so many are restored, as they are only original once. And to have such an extremely rare original is the holy grail. Don't sleep on this one, as it's not going to last long!
