1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass Additional Info:
1969 OLDS CUTLASS "S"--MINT--ORIGINAL
75,000 MILES; IN STORAGE 30 YEARS
This Cutlass must be seen and driven to be believed. It was sold by Foulkner Olds in Philadelphia, PA and remained within 200 miles its entire life. The original owner used the car very little, and always garaged it. In 1980 he had it repainted to change the color to blue (I have the original receipt). I was told he passed away, resulting in the Cutlass sitting in storage and extremely well-preserved for the next 30 years. It was then purchased and properly recommissioned in 2010 by the next owner, then I purchased it last year.
The repaint in 1980 was to a very high standard; it still shines great and has none of the usual imperfections you would expect. It looks like it was painted 3 years ago, not 30. The body is laser straight and all the original panels line up perfectly. The original engine and transmission show less than the 75,000 miles and all the indicators are that it is original. It starts and runs perfectly, no smoke, leaks or unusual noises. After its 30 year nap, the bumpers' chrome looked poor, so the bumpers were replaced; the rear bumper was replaced with the 442 "cut out" model with new Trumpet exhaust tips. At that time, the "wing" and other 442 trim were added. The exhaust has a very subtle muscular sound. The interior and headliner are also perfect. Everything under the hood is perfect and appears original; even the heat tube from the exhaust manifold is present. It starts, runs, and cruises down the highway with ease, and has plenty of pep. Unfortunately, some severe medical issues have worsened, causing me to sell my beloved, wonderful Oldsmobiles.
Please come to see and drive it or send your mechanic--you will love it. Looks and sounds like a 442 at half the price.
