1973 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Additional Info:
I've owned this 1973 limited production Delta 88 Royale for about 17 years. I bought it from someone who had it stored in a dry garage for nearly a decade. I was able to drive it home with a new battery. The rolling restoration project began and I soon replaced the top and motors, reupholstered the drivers seat, put in new carpet and had it painted a Firebrick Red (brownish red) about 15 years ago. As I continued to drive and enjoy the 6 seat roominess, the tired old Rocket 350 was professionally rebuilt 3 years ago. A new Edelbrock aluminum intake replace the heavy iron intake and a new 4 barrel was installed. Believe its about 546 CFM bought from Summit Racing. Other mods were dual exhaust and some old school Cherry Bomb mufflers a couple of years ago.
The car has fresh front brakes and can be driven anywhere. The low mileage is original. What I never got to was replacement of electric antenna, wiper fluid pump, radio speakers, cabin blower fan and cruise control. None of these I felt was as important as simply putting the top down and driving. The car originaly had air conditioning for some reason but the compressor is not there.
Its now your turn to take over this better than average fun survivor car and have your family and friends pile in for a great ride. You can fly in to Indianapolis and drive it home. It's a great car which was just in the second largest parade in Indiana on July 4th. Check the photos.
