1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Additional Info:
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible. 350-4 barrel, automatic, power steering and brakes. This car still retains original PROTECTO PLATE and owners manual with plastic pouch. This vehicle is a very original numbers matching car. All panels and frame are original. A matching vin tag sticker is still on driver door. This car was only used in summers at vacation house on east coast. The owner passed away and the family sold the house the car was in. My relatives are elderly so I am helping them with the sale. I am in my 50's and will try to answer any questions you may have.
This car is an original Matador red exterior with white interior and top. Was a factory dual exhaust car with cut outs in bumper, now has single exhaust. The paint has been touched up over the years and is very shiny and presentable. There is a small rust spot on bottom of driver fender which is typical for GM convertibles from this generation. The frame and floors are rock solid. Small amount of scale on bottom of doors but very solid. Normal amount of small dings and a few nicks not unexpected for 44 year old car.
The top and lift pistons and motor are all new.Interior seats have been redone and new carpets installed, looks very nice. There are no rips on interior and dash has no cracks. Original radio has been replaced and speakers were put in front doors. If you would like it back to original the carpet sections of the doors are $25 to replace. All of the courtesy lights and door buzzers work and none of the wiring has ever been touched.
Engine starts and runs strong with no smoke. Cold idle works properly.Transmission shifts solid. Vehicle had fuel tank, sending unit, and pump replaced.
There are not many of these unmolested one owner original cars left. The family estimates the value between $11,000 to $15,000. This presents a nice opportunity to get into the collector market with one of the best designs from GM, with the most desirable color combinations. You can drive the car the way it is, do some minor touch ups, and one day do winter project repaint and have a very original classic for far less then the prices you see these cars going for!!!!
I will try to answer any questions and provide more pictures if you are interested. Vehicle will be available locally as well and auction may end early.
Please do not ask what the reserve is. It is set at a reasonable price. You can shoot me an offer, but if your not local we will finish transaction through ebay for both of our protection.
Thank you
