1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Cutlass Supreme Additional Info:
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible-Pure Survivor--Pinehurst Green Exterior--Parchment Interior--Power Steering--Power Disc Brakes--Ice Cold Air Conditioning--Power Top--Sport Wheel-
If you've been looking for a summer convertible that shows pure class, mixed with a bit of sophistication, excellent documentation and pedigree, consider this Cutlass Supreme. It seems that everybody is taking these Cutlass Supremes, putting W25 hoods on them, badging them as 442's and fetching 40 grand for them. However, this car is just something different, something that can only be explained in person, something that can only be explained by driving it. This Cutlass Supreme is the car.
Now, as a knowledgableAuthority on Oldsmobiles, I own countless 442's, W-30's Hurst/Olds, Pace Cars, you nameit, I own or have owned 5 of them. My point isn't to brag, I've owned most of these cars since before they were worth anything...I just know these cars, exceptionally well. My point is, this car is exceptional.
I purchased this particular Cutlass some time ago while appraising it for a older local couple, who...after many decades of owning it, decided to part ways with the car, for the simple reason that, in 2004...the local Oldsmobile went out of business, along with Oldsmobile, in 2004...and theydidn't trust anyone else to service the car.
A gentleman fromMilwaukee, WI. purchased this car new for his wife as a wedding present. Her favorite stone was an emerald, so the car was ordered in very rare Pinehurst Green, with a pearly parchment interior, and a white top, SS Wheels, white wall tires, and all the creaturecomforts one could want in a car such as this. Before we assume, and please...don't assume...that this car was a lifelong Wisconsin car, that it was, or is...in some way...rusty. Quite simply not the case here. The car is as dry and as rust free as the finest of Arizona examples, without the effects of the harsh sun.
The car was used as a summer car, garnering some 1500 miles a year on it. So, the car never sat for any period of time, but at the same time, was driven just enough...to keep it superbly maintained. If anything was wrong with the car, it was immediately fixed. If something leaked, squeaked, or smelled funny...to the Oldsmobile Dealership it went, and ONLY the Oldsmobile Dealership. So, needless to say, the car...while having only 87000 highly documented miles...drives like...a new Oldsmobile.
I rarely get that feeling driving any other Oldsmobile, the car simply is a dream to drive, with excellent power, is likely the most reliable car I've ever owned. Everything works down to every interior bulb, and the Air Conditioning.
This car does not shake, does not rattle, does not smoke, does not stumble...does not pull when stopping...imagine brand new Oldsmobile...with neurotic owners...and that is what we have here.
There is some things that really set this car apart. The paint is excellent...the interior is impeccable...the top even looks new.
From impeccable chrome to stately bumper guards...this car just has a amount of class that no 442 can recreate. So, this car is a statement upon itself, it will never be a "442 clone"...it belongs...just the way it is...for the next Steward to enjoy.
The documentation on this car is akin to a Prosecutors Murder file, with everything documented...from day 1.
There is something special about sitting on a 47 year old seat, that feels like it was never sat on...until you understand the 100lb school teacher that put 1000-2000 miles a year on it...with yellowing plastic covers on the seats, because she refused to sit directly on the seat.
Snow? Rain? I candidlydon'tbelieve this car has seen either of those 2 acts of nature.
This car is a fantastic example, and deserving of being driven.
With that being said...I have driven this car on several longer trips, and you just WANT to drive it. It is a prime example. It wins "Best Survivor" at pretty much every show we attend. No dents, dings, appreciable scratches...this car appears as a frame off restoration, but is simply....a very well loved original example.
Sure, I've done some upgrades to the car to make its' dispatch rate...100%. It needs nothing...
Look at my feedback for peace of mind... I've liquidating $500,000 of my collection over the past year, with a 100% satisfaction rate...Idon't own junk, buy junk, sell junk. This car is no exception to that rule.
Real Buyers typically call me...630 273 7595!
I do have a account with Central Dispatch, and can get this car to your door faster than your wife can order Amazon Prime...so keep that in mind.
Typically, my auctionsdon't last until the end, any piece in my collection is advertised locally, and this auction can and will be ended inthe event of a negotiated sale on other venues and sites.
