1966 Oldsmobile Toronado Additional Info:

The is a sexy car. It still turns heads and people ask all the time what make and model is this car. Its the 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado. First year of this model, first American made front wheel drive car since the Cord 812, and the first front wheel drive car for GM...ever. The 425cu in V8 has plenty of power to cruise and move when needed. The Toronado is one of Jay Leno's favorite cars. So much so that he transformed one to produce 1070hp yet kept the stock body since no needed to mess with such a good looking machine.
This example here is a southern car, meaning no rust. Been in North Carolina its entire life and the previous owner had it for 39 yrs, after purchasing it in 1977. I have the original owners manual and Protect-O-Plate. This has been very well taken care of example. It does have new carpet, seat covers, and a fresh coat of paint in the original blue color. The original chrome shines up well, and it does run and drive. I have driven it to a couple car shows and even caught the eye of Dennis Gage from My Classic Car at its most recent event. These cars are rare to find, let alone in good condition.
Now just like any 50 year old, there are a few things that are less than perfect, but I feel are not huge issues. The chrome shines nice, but has some garage rub marks on both front corners of the bumper. The speedo does not work the way it should. Electric items work with the exception of a couple seat movements. Lights work and pop up, but will sometimes only the left or the right or neither or both. Exhaust leak that likely will be fixed prior to anyone purchasing.
I am selling because this car does not fit into my garage. Its not the size of the door, rather its a tight side entry garage that does not let me swing this into the garage door without a number of hitches at it (no problem for my Porsche though, so looks like it will stay there).
