We are consigning this extremely rare and beautifully restored 1969 Hurst Olds. In 1969 Oldsmobile and Demmer Engineering took 912 (906 Holiday 2 door Hardtops, 6 convertibles) Oldsmobile 442's and turned them into the special edition Hurst H/O 455's. Of these original cars, some say half have survived. The car you are looking at is Demmer #482, documented and ORIGINAL with Protect-O-Plate, Broadcast card, Demmer Engineering trans tag, owners manual and more!!
Exterior
The car received a complete body on restoration with no expense spared. The body was stripped to bare metal, the trunk, hood and all glass was removed. The majority of the car’s born with body panels were retained, with the passenger fender and trunk lid needing replacement. Small patch panels were professionally welded in to the lower quarter panels to eliminate minor rust issues in the body. The base/clear Cameo White and Firefrost Gold paint was applied in the same sequence as the factory did it, with hand painted black pin striping to complete the details of the Hurst paint scheme. All new weather-stripping was installed after paint and the original glass was reinstalled. Attention to detail was a top concern in the restoration. Paint and panel fit quality, correct “T-3” headlights, Goodyear Polyglass F60x15 tires, Hurst/Olds emblems, H/O exclusive tire pressure sticker on the driver door, original hood/scoops, beautiful and mostly original stainless trim and meticulously re-chromed bumpers are just a handful of the painstakingly correct features of this car.
Interior
The interior shows the pursuit of perfection of this car. A flawless Legendary interior kit, including front and rear seat covers, door panels, carpeting and step plates was installed. The new pieces complement the well preserved original parts of the interior including Hurst Gold striped headrests, headliner, sun visors, seat belts, dash, Hurst Dual-gate console/shifter, walnut inserts, switches, knobs, radio and gauges. Even the original N34 3-spoke sport steering wheel is retained. This is an original non-AC, rally gauge package equipped car. All the lights, accessories and gauges work as they should with the exception of the clock. The dash was also signed by Miss Hurst herself, Linda Vaughn!
Engine Bay
Highly detailed and painted engine bay with correct “F” code 455 engine block (NOT VIN matching) that was upgraded with a .030” overbore, pump gas friendly 9.75:1 pistons, 557 lift/311 duration cam, better flowing “CA” heads, Edelbrock Torker intake manifold, Holley 850 double pumper carb and 1-7/8” primary tube headers. The engine makes approximately 500HP and has about 8000 miles on complete rebuild.
Chassis
The 455 is backed by a built TH400 transmission with a 3000RPM stall converter. A correct 3.91:1 geared 12 bolt rear end with a W-27 aluminum cover (original stamped steel cover is included) rounds out the drivetrain. The front suspension was rebuilt at the time of restoration and is painted and undercoated. There is a new gas tank with straps and a Flowmaster American Thunder dual exhaust system rounded out with correct 442 chrome tips. Power steering and power brakes with front disc add to the comfort of the car. Heavy duty front and rear sway bars keep it firmly planted to the ground. Original and excellent condition Argent Silver painted 15x7 SSII wheels round out the Hurst package.
