This is a RARE ORIGINAL Hurst/Olds W 30,dual gate shifter. Its the first one that was built by Oldsmobile, and the ONLY A-Body to come with a L34,"R" code Rocket 350 V-8. When ordered you had to purchase the "W 30" option. The TOTAL Hurst/Olds production was ONLY 2,499!
I purchased the car from the 2nd owner, who bought it from an estate sale where it was garage kept. He owned it for 10 yrs and only put a couple hundred miles on it. The odometer reads 1,501. I believe this to be the actual mileage. Several factors include the overall EXCELLENT condition, gas/brake pedal, all chrome wheel wells(NO dings) NO rust on the painted undercarriage(its not rustproofed), look at the outstanding chrome on the bumpers and pay attention to the perfect black rubber trim with the perfect untouched white painted line!I removed the front part of thedash to change 1 bulb to discover the white plastic was brand new looking, NO burns etc from the lite bulbs.The interior is camel tan lochland velour, its the upgrade option. Its almost perfect.Its all soft and clean. Look at all the gauges how perfect they are, look at the shifter, perfect, the vents etc...perfect.There is much more, but I want to explain more. This classic is 99% RUST FREE!!! NO BS! I don't believe there is another in this great of shape. I think some of the car was touched up, It looks like the mirrors. ALL panels, doors etc are original, look at how perfect the sides are, NO BONDO, No accidents. Look at how rust free and clean the undercarriage is. The tires are old school and are almost new. Brakes are great, new dual exhaust with NO catalytic converter.A/C isupdated and recharged ice cold.ALL!!! of the mechanical parts : starter, fuel pump, power steering and lines, alternator, battery, cables, belts, hoses,clamps, heavy duty fan clutch, water pump have been replaced new or I had the original part rebuilt. All brackets bolts etc have been blasted and powder coated to correct color.
The engine was totally rebuilt professionally(receipts provided) along with the transmission with a mild stall speed torque converter added. Shifts great!Both have under 400miles on them. The original 700 cfm Rochester 4 barrel quadrajet carburetor was rebuilt by United Carb. The rear end is a 7 1/2", 10 Bolt, 2:73 limited slip axle, the gear oil changed and added a new billet aluminum cover, (like the original W-30). Here is the someof the rebuild: Competition cam,.283 lift( just above stock,), bored .30 over, 3-angle valve job,new lifters, aluminum girdles, pistons,double timing chain and gears.......much more and it was BALANCED!
Some of the flaws; some clear coat is coming off, hail damage on top, small dent on passenger door. Radio is scratchy, no horn. The drivers seat bottom is torn/and some missing. I started to cut some of the material to send to vendors.
I have spentBIG money and a lot of time, but I have to sell....I have a low reserve and am lookingfor a fair price. PLEASE do your research, check NADA.COM etc.... I have EXTRA parts included; brand new headers, perfect dash pad, full set of factory service manuals(great source),brochures, factory rims etc.....
