This Oldsmobile has been in the back corner of my shop for years its time to admit I'm never going to get to it and let it go to a new home.
Mechanical:The car has a Camaro sub-frame and rear end installed.
Interior:The interior includes the dash trim and rear seat
Body:The floors and trunk floor have been replaced using parts from a donor car but it still needs bodywork as you would expect on a 78 year old car. There is rust on the bottoms of the doors and rocker panels and it is in rough and dented condition. If you wanted a rat rod it is an excellent candidate. All the body side moldings and hood moldings are included. These cars could be ordered with or without running boards (Bing Crosby's came without) in any case there are none with this car. The convertible top mechanism appears complete. The window regulators and a lot of other parts are in the trunk. There is and assortment of duplicated parts as well. The Oldsmobile rims and tires are not included but it will have roller tires and rims for shipping. This is a factory black convertible.
History: This car still wears its 1957 New Hampshire plates. I am not certian but judging by the larger glove box door and dash trim this car may be the very rare series 80 Convertible. A friend located it in a field where it had been sitting for decades beside a 39 parts car. He bought both and used the floors and other parts from the parts car to repair the convertible. He installed a Camaro front clip and rear end retaining the rear coil springs, I was able to buy the car from him at this stage. Most of the hard to find convertible parts are with the car like the sun visors and top clips. It would make an outstanding rod when complete.
Overall:Over the last five years I have watched ebay for a 39 Oldsmobile Convertible and have only seen one. It is definetly amoung the rarest of the Oldsmobile convertibles and I would guess there are only a handfull left. With much of the hard work already done I planed to make a ratrod out of it, but I have had for several years and I'm just not going to get to it any time soon. This car needs everything but when finished will be extreamly rare and worth a fortune, so if your looking to get into a vintage hotrod that isaffordableand that you can build your way, then this may be the car for you. I am offering this car unreserved with a low starting bid because I'm serious about selling it, so please don't bid if you are notcertainyou can complete the sale. The car is being sold on a bill of sale.
Location and Shipping:The car is located in British Columbia Canada about five hours from the Washington border. If a US buyer buys this car I will help with arranging shipping and with the paperwork as I am very familiar with the process. If you are looking for a quote on shipping this takes some time and I will only do this for the winning bidder, however, I can ship the the car to the US border at Blaine Washington for 400.00 and you can arrange the rest or pick it up there. There is a no duty on this car if it is imported to the US.
Payment:I make no exceptions on payment, it is due in full within 5 days of the end of the auction by paying cash in person or by bank wire transfer or e-transfer. No money orders or any other methods will be accepted. I find this is the safest way for both the buyer and me as there is a complete bank record of the transaction.
If you have any questions please send me an email or call 250-515-1110 I am often out of the cellular service area but if you leave a message I will call you back as soon as I can.
Scammers: I have heard it all before don't waste my time.
Good luck and thanks for looking
