1989 Nissan 300ZX Additional Info:

For sale is my 1989 Nissan 300ZX GLL (production date 11/88).
This is a great car if someone is looking for a rust free Z31 to build into a project turbo car or just restore and enjoy. My plan was to restore the car with some tasteful upgrades, rebuild the engine and turbo it. It took me a lot of searching and hunting to find a good car with this exterior/interior color leather combo, but a recent job layoff has eliminated the option for me to keep and finish it.
I am the third owner of the car and the second owner bought it for his son who then decided he didn't like it (said the car was too old and wanted a more modern car). The father was upset and made the boy purchase the car from him himself and then the car sat for almost a year in storage (garage) before I picked it up and they didn't put many miles on it. So the Title and Carfax show four owners, but in actuality it is only three.
EVERYTHING WORKS on the car except the radio currently. Tires are even fine.
The car has ZERO rust (including the rear hatch and behind the rear mud flaps) and the paint is almost perfect except for some rock chips in the front. There is zero clear coat peeling on the car and with a good bath it shines like new.
The interior is in great shape with the only issue now being the driver's seat which has part of the leather bolster missing. I replaced the rear carpet with high quality aftermarket carpet that was professionally installed, along with the rear speaker covers (all of which was badly sun-faded and the rear carpet had some tears and stains). The actual front carpet is in great shape and the color is still good and it still has the original floor mats.
The dash has no cracks, though the center section by the vent is just starting to warp.
I have a ton of time into the car fixing some small details and cleaning everything. I will do my best to list the things wrong with it as well as the upgrades I've done.
The Bad The car is leaking oil around the valve cover gaskets and possibly the rear main seal. I changed oil in it when I first got the car and it has never went down on the dipstick and I've used it as a 'nice day car' since purchasing it. The power steering rack is leaking (as is common on these). The car will be sold with a remanufactured power steering rack that has never been installed from a specialty broker who deals in parts on these cars. The subframe bushings are worn and need to be replaced. The owner I bought the car from said the original owner just replaced the timing belt and stuff prior to them buying the car from him. However, they could not produce any documentation regarding that and there is no sticker in the engine bay. The car will be sold with a complete timing kit (as much OEM as was still available) along with full tune-up items and new valve cover seals. Rear trunk seal has a tear near the latch (doesn't leak), but I have a brand new replacement seal that has not yet been installed (I was waiting to do it until after everything in the hatch area was done so no one would accidentally ripped the new seal when crawling in and out).
The Good The car runs great, starts right up each time and drives just fine and has plenty of power. I had a keyless entry/alarm professionally installed. Right now only the keyless entry portion works as I did not have the rest of the components for the alarm installed (I planned on doing this when I pulled the engine out to rebuild it). Brand new professionally installed (August of this year) LLumar Ceramic window tint all around (no more sun fading). Brand new high end HERTZ CK165 Component 6.5 speakers installed (correctly) in the front doors, along with HERTZ CX 165 6.5 speakers installed in the rear (speakers installed in brackets, but not yet in the car). The car is fully wired to run a 5-channel amp, including RCA's, power wire from engine bay, and remote wire. I have a little over $2,000 dollars worth of extra parts that will be sold along with the car. Some of these parts are no longer available and are hard to find, but include, OEM rear turbo spoiler, OEM in-tank fuel pump/fuel float assembly, lots of clips and screws, and an extra working digital climate control unit along with the original unit that can still be repaired (a working replacement already installed in the car) plus lots more. B&M Short Throw shifter with a genuine leather GTR shift knob. I removed the mirrors and replaced the rubber seals behind them and then had the mirrors professionally painted black (to match the black two-tone trim I was planning on doing outside, such as the door handles and bottom side skirts).
The AC works and blows ice cold, heater works, power radio antenna works, even the cigarette lighter works. The weather seals are still good and do not leak even when sprayed with a power washer. I pulled out all the rear taillights and sealed them and they no longer leak either (was only just starting to seep on the driver's side).
I also have a brand new (still in the shipping box) set of POWERTRIX Ultra-lite coilovers with swift springs already welded to factory spindles that I will sell separately from the car. These are over $2,500 new, so if you are interested, we can discuss the price for those separately.
I have all the OEM interior car pieces and all clips and screws labeled in Ziplock sandwich bags, I didn't install the rear interior back yet as I was planning on doing the rear subframe and putting the coilovers in. Everything for the interior will come with the car.
As stated, everything but the radio works (I still have the OEM factory radio). The only thing missing is the OEM amp, which wasn't working anyway.
Car will also be sold with the OEM Nissan shop repair manual as well as the OEM electrical system manual.
Please contact me with any questions. Car can be driven anywhere (cruise works) and it is comfortable to drive. I have a complete list of all bought parts along with receipts that will be provided with the car.
Mileage will continue to go up some as I do drive it around on nice days.
The car is worth $6K, but make me a reasonable offer and I will consider it. The car is paid off with a clear title. This is the last time it will be listed until possibly spring.
